Who should I go with? The guy who was for cap and trade two years ago or the guy who is for cap and trade now?

Exactly.

It IS true that Mitt has flipflopped a lot.

But, ON THESE TWO ISSUES, McCain has resolutely taken the leftist position: Gore-Bal Warming kool-aid drinker and pro-gas-tax.

So McCain’s hard left (but resolutely so) positions on these issues somehow makes him preferable to conservative voters to Mitt’s flipflopping? That’s not my view. They both are awful, but I’d rather take my chances (on these issues, anyway) with Mitt. 50% chance is better than zero of getting a conservative stance.

you’ll just end up with McCain-Huckabee ticket (see my tagline) and that will turn out the vote for hillary like never before imagined.

As if we needed more evidence Thompson and Hunter quit too soon .

how true. It is astounding how most of the candidates on our side have taken to the AGW fraud. McCain and Romney both raised their hands in response to that leftist moderator at the Iowa debates. Sad. I have very little hope that Romney would have the sense to realize the AGW just wants to destroy capitalism.

McCain shows his insanity because of his rabid belief in AGW and he glee at greater control over our lives in response to this fraud. McCain would destroy what remains of our Liberty if elected.

The article really does not point out a ‘flip flop’ on global warming by Romney.

In any event, McCain’s position on global warming seems to be the same as al gore. I’d rather have flip flopping.

A vote for Thompson could send a good delegate to the convention. A vote for Huckabee might help get to a brokered convention.

Not in Florida -- it's winner take all.

yes, if mccain was a solid conservative on global warming like Sen Inhofe then he would have a pretty good case against Romney. Mccain is offering NOTHING but pandering to liberal views.

>>>>>If [Romney] changes his position today, what prevents him from reversing himself again tomorrow?

NOTHING! Romney is not a man of conviction or principle. He's also not a conservative. Run of the mill northeast liberal.

We would like to believe someone who encourages discussion and development of a concept and then, when that discussion and development, under careful scrutiny, reveals flaws, does not follow through blindly just because it initially seemed promising.

As for the gas tax to fund clean-ups part of that makes sense. Those who create the problem should pay to clean it up.

As for the advisors and the gasoline tax: It is strikingly clear that listening to “experts” and technical advisors who bear conventional wisdom only is not enough to demonstrate the leadership that we need. Let us hope that Governor Romeny can get out of this cocoon. This problem is particularly acute in the Hub we note and has been for a long time.

When has McCain been advocating for tax increases?

Uh...when he advocated reversing the Bush Tax Cuts? Oh that's right he has flip flopped on that one.

“There is absolutely nothing John MeCain can say about himself or anyone else that would move me to vote for him, ever. And I do mean ever.”

I am so with you. I will never vote for the guy. There isn’t a conservative I know that will.

Gotta tell ya, Johnnie, as much as I'd prefer a real conservative were running against you, I'll take Mitt over you any day.

Maybe you should try to get the Dems to make you their Veep candidate.

The description sets out that he looked at and as it was developed further decided it was not as good an idea as it originally seemed. Which should you support a guy who goes at things rationally, develops concepts and then examines them carefully before finally deciding or a guy who flies airplanes into bays, powerlines and tree clumps and cannot stay on track for any length of time without exhibiting compulsive and impulsive behavior?

This distortion by Senator McCain is very similar to the one about what Governor Romney said about President Bush and Malaki. How can anyone vote for a guy who engages in this kind of distortion. It has a real vicious meanness to it.
