The Father did not send Christ only to teach. He sent him to die

and His death is what is concentrated on over His teachings as it 'relieves' us of doing the hard part = walking the walk

Jesus said = "Do as ye have seen me do."

If this weren't equally important, then He had no need of spending those years teaching, nor training disciples and choosing Apostles to go forth and spread the Gospel...

Too many churches/Christians today want to take the lazy path to heaven - many may be surprised, one day, when asked for a list of their "works" ;o)

"But it seems you are willing to accept that even though Mormons accept that Deity exists outside the Trinity they are [C]hristians."

Yes, but I am also willing to admit that I, like all humans, do not have perfect knowledge or perfect wisdom. I have established a personal relationship with God and I believe that many Mormons have as well.

I actually believe that God has a sense of humor and probably gets a chuckle out of how seriously we mortals take ourselves and our theological musings in His name.

The UMC is a travesty. Perhaps I’m biased by the founder of the AFA having been a UMC minister and thus reporting most heavily on their transgressions. But it sure seems there is no more ridiculous denomination/sect in this country (i.e., not necessarily counting other Methodist congregations).

Faith in that powerful event is what enables one to go to Heaven.

If you walk in faith in Jesus' sacrifice for your sin, His works will result, and that also involves resting in Him.

Your own works can't earn Heaven.

Obviously. But God still expects one to make an attempt to recognize bad theology.

Not all paths lead to God.

pls explain how the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod is apostate?

The ELCA I agree whole heartedly, but as a lifelong LCMS member I have not found any apostacy in the church. I would like to hear your take on it

sorry!
I was up all night and read your post as a list of apostate churches, not as a list of those that are not.

I promise to read the post more carefully next time!

"God still expects one to make an attempt to recognize bad theology."

Christ did not challenge us to become theologians. He challenges us to be childlike, not scholarly or legalistic in our approach to God; He gave us the Beatitudes. If you live up to these you will be rewarded in the next life whether you pray in Rome, Salt Lake City, or a tent out by the interstate.

In my life I have witnessed the spirit of the Beatitudes more often from Mormons as I have "Orthodox" Christians.

He gave us the Beatitudes

Yes, and He also gave us a lot more than that.

Battle against idols, false gods, and false beliefs is a major theme running throughout the Bible.

Christ did not challenge us

Us? Do not presume to speak for all. God's challenge to become better-versed in theology has been issued to many throughout the ages.

Now that they've cursed Israel, I expect calamity to come upon the United Methodist Church.

I do, too. It's been a long time coming. This is a Church that has become infected with the sin of pride.

It's been prophesied that the 'Smoke of Satan' would enter the Church.

Apparently it has, and the people are breathing it in.

It’s certainly good news (not to be confused with The Good News) that each of us have a personal relationship with God and will be judged based upon how we have lived our lives. That means whatever the judgmental and self righteous believe and preach, regardless if they can cite the chapter and verse in a compilation of works filtered and edited by other judgmental and self righteous souls, isn’t worth a glass of warm spit in the end.

No...citing verses won't earn you Heaven.

Accepting Jesus' righteousness rather than your own will.

“You are no god and never will be!”

In the Bible it says God made man in his own image.

God creates.

God gave us the power to create.

Everything that is not ‘natural’ on the Earth was created by man.

We are part of God. We are in his image. We can create.

When we ‘go to heaven’ we will be taken up in spirit.

We will be spiritual creatures with the likeness and powers of God.

Angels have powers. The rank and file of the heavenly host is actually a pretty long list.

If God chooses to make gods of certain heavenly hosts, who are you to say he can’t?

IIRC, the Mormons/RLDS don’t believe that they become the God of the Universe. They believe they are given a godlike role in God’s universe.

Just because they have a different view of what heaven is like, does not mean they are not Christian.

It seems now that the United Methodist Church has been focusing on welcoming Homosexuals and using them to fund strategic political influence.

For instance, the church Hillary went to that is owned by her political ally, and whose minister is on Hillary’s campaign staff, and whose husband runs local Iowa Caucus out of the church basement.

Is that Christian? Is allowing campaigning in church, Christian?

I’m just trying to say, before you go judging someone else’s religion, better have a look at your own, first.

And no matter what you decide, it really doesn’t matter.
You won’t be doing the judging, God will.

“But since Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers born of Mr. & Mrs. God, they have to do a lot of dancing around to claim that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.”

He is the only begotten son of God.

The Devil, Lucifer, Satan, The ArchAngel, whatever you choose, was not ‘begotten’ in the flesh.

And.... just where did the Angels, Seraphim, Cherubim, etc. all come from?

The heavenly host have been there with God, forever.

Israel is a land which refuses to acknowledge the Christ. It should be a CHRISTIAN nation, but instead the Christians have sold out to Zionist Jews.

Careful man... that truth is an unpopular opinion in Christianity.

In the Bible it says God made man in his own image

Yes, God created man to have some of His attributes, emotion, ability to create, etc.

However, God did NOT make man to be Deity.

If God chooses to make gods

God doesn't make gods. He is not going to make you a god. You are mistaken in that idea.

And of course, you never have to do anything like actually repent or obey any commandments or anything like that!
