The S&L swindler, Keating, had McCain in his back pocket. The other 4 were minor players. It should be called: The Keating/McCain scandal.

"McCains a Senator." That is actually a very good point. American's don't send Senators to the Oval Office very often.
The US Senate is probably the most loathed institution I can think of in DC IMO.

(Keating himself was convicted in January 1993 of 73 counts of wire and bankruptcy fraud and served more than four years in prison before his conviction was overturned. Last year, he pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud and was sentenced to time served.) Has Charles Keating endorsed McCain yet?
