If you will get a ‘bluebird house’, they will eventually come. I have them here now but it was a year or so after I put up the house. At this time of year, I don’t see them, but in a month or so they will be back. I love them!

They are so beautiful. I thought of putting up the houses. I have a really good place for them too. I have read that house sparrows and other birds take them over and will kill the babies. I worry about that. Although, I don’t seem to have a lot of house sparrows here. Have you ever encountered this problem? That must be wonderful to have them nesting near you!

GeeBee, you did such a great job profiling your state, and I'm going to take advantage of the music and download some! I really, really like your background colors and your pretty text headings. Know what a lot of work it was, and hope you are as pleased with it
as you should be! My favorite bagels are those that say New York style ("Thomas" brand - hearty wheat/whole wheat).
Thank you for a fun-filled cyber tour of New York! :)

When I first put it up, other birds fought over the house. Even chickadees, which I had never seen around a birdhouse here. Finally, the bluebirds got there first and nested twice a year.
I had never heard the other birds would eat their babies. Of course, I can’t watch it every moment but believe I would have caught them! (I hope)!

Thanks Billie :)
There is one place, kind of a ride for us, but the bagels are unbelievable. Hot bagels right out of the oven. I think they boil them first. YUM. and worth the ride. Probably good thing it's not close, ;) LOL.

Uh oh. Just got an error trying to post this.
I’m going to give it a try this year. I’m sure they can take care of themselves. I would be thrilled!! You must so enjoy having them around! I have Chickadees in houses in the back. I never saw their babies. They must leave at a late hour or something. I think they nested a couple of times too.
