Well, then question you have to ask is: “Is McCain a Democrat?”
What’s her record like? I’ve never heard of her.
Fred should have got Huckabee’s votes. You always have a 30% problem with every group (approx 30% repub 30% dem 30%middle grounders nationally) and each party has has a subset with the same kind of a break down.
Mcain got the 30% liberal portion of our party. Huckabee got 30% of the conservative mix. Huckabee is an anomaly, IMHO he just does not seem to be nominee material after looking at his background, I think he will fade as people get to know him.
Fred has got to take the turkey out to win.
Ain’t it the truth! LOL!
No, you vote your conscience.
If you’re a conservative... you look at the list of candidates and vote for the one that best fits your beliefs.
End of story.
(If your candidate loses, then the obvious conclusion is that there are more voters in your community that think differently than you.)
The best strategy I can think of would be to back the candidate that the Drive-by-Media and the DNC hates the most. So far, that candidate appears to be Mitt Romney. Yesterday’s media lovefest with McCain and complete snubbing of Romney’s more significant victory in Nevada only confirms it.
And Mitt's goal is to eliminate it.
So, what shall it be, destroy it or eliminate it?
We are on a team. You may not like all members of the team, but you’ve got to support their plays once the decision is made to hand them the ball. Now some people/issues are nonstarters. I wouldn’t hand the ball off to a Michael Vick even if he was going to score a touchdown, I wouldn’t want to be seen in public wearing the same outfit. But unlike Democrats we tend to kick our lowlifes off the team when we find out what they are.
Romney Rudy Huckabee and McCain are unpalatable to me as well (but I’ll eat that crow, and give more to Hunter next time), but if conservatives cannot get their nominee as a candidate, how are we going to get him elected President?
My last comment wasn’t in support of McCain. McCain locked arms with John Kerry and pushed normalization with Vietnam over the loud objecttions of families of POWs/MIAs. I just could not trust him as commander and chief. My point was we have to unify behind a candidate and beat the dems. I am an ex Fredhead for Romney at this point.
If Thompson drops out, will he throw his support to his goof friend McCain?
I ask this because that might be enought o put him over the top.
With Hunter out of the race, I’m leaning towards Romney. (not a sure thing, just leaning)
I will NOT vote for McCain under any circumstance. (don’t see the point) McCain/Clinton: a toss up for most F@$ked Up.
Pretty good. Squeaky clean.
I’d like her, but I feel we need to bust out Mike Pence first for VP ‘08. We don’t have time for him to graduate thru the ‘process’.

A vote for anyone but Fred becomes a vote for Romney. Either Fred will be the nominee, or Romney will. At this point, the probabilities strongly favor Romney.
Excuse me. You question my principle?? There’s a lot at stake in this election, and I want my vote cast wisely. What’s wrong with that principle??
There’s troops in 2 war zones, and they don’t need a Commander from the “cut N run” party. So many of my principles have to take a back seat in this cycle..I don’t think we have the luxury of voting solely on principles this election.
You can disagree, but don’t question my principles. I’m not questioning yours, we probably agree on more things then not; or we wouldn’t be Freepers. Have a nice day.
“after I voted for Schwartzenegger. He is the same type of b”
Ahnold tried to restrain spending in California by a referendum. The voters defeated it, and then Ahnold turned Liberal to get reelected. The stupid voters crave government handouts the way junkies crave heroin.
I’m with you!
It appears the “Progressives” have control of the two major parties. I will not support a Liberal agenda. I refuse to compromise my values anymore.
In terms of the team, I will likely ask for my release (football analogy) and play for another team. I’m a Conservative first...a Republican second.
I know that’s the way Rush usually is, but I hope he’ll come out and say it, instead of thinking people are smart enough to understand. I think he will endorse, this time. It’s too important that McCain not get the nomination.
Absolutely correct.
