So sad! Prayers go out for his family, May God comfort them and give them strength in the difficult days ahead.
And Duncan Hunter just backed out of the race. A double whammy for border security. This is all very sad news.
Follow up story: The Bush Administration has indicted the border guard’s widow.

Border Agent struck and killed
“Witnesses told the Yuma Sun newspaper that agents were chasing a Hummer and a Ford pickup on Interstate 8 when the vehicles turned into the dunes and fled toward Mexico. The agent was trying to place spike strips in their path and was struck by the Hummer.”

I was actually about to say that he was going to be charged with damaging private property but someone with a similar sense of sarcasm beat me to the punch!
