Attorney Brandon M. Bolling of the Thomas More Law Center, representing PFOX and two other plaintiff organizations, said that the curriculum's teaching that sexual orientation is "innate" is unsupported by scientific evidence,

that classroom discussion of oral and anal intercourse did not violate a state law against discussions of "erotic techniques."

Is that what they are teaching kids in the schools these days? Good lord man... The only thing close to sexual education that was taught when I was going to school was home economics...

Why is PFOX so upset about this progressive agenda? After all it’s only one small step of progressiveness. Don’t they want their children to be happy (gay)?

The leftist indoctrination centers long ago stopped caring about facts that interfered with their agenda.(wagglebee)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I bet there are a lot of so-called “Christian” teachers cooperating with, aiding, and abetting this homosexual indoctrination in their Maryland government schools.

True Christian teachers really only have two options:

1)Oppose, reject, speak out forcefully to the administrators and their students, and refuse to cooperate with those promoting this agenda. ( In other words: Get fired!)

2) Quit!

If a Christian teacher does anything less than the above he teaching his students some very negating things about Christianity. If the Christian teacher cooperates with and is silent about this curriculum the student learns:

1) Christian teachers will sell their Christian principles for a paycheck and a pension.

2) The student may conclude that Christians are so lukewarm, timid, and fearful about their faith that they don’t care to speak out or reject this program.

3)The student may conclude that Christian teachers have no other option but to teach in the government schools. In other words, Christians are too stupid to find other work. Students may also conclude that Christians don’t trust God’s Providence to help them find work in the free market.

4) Some have suggested to me, that Christians should tell their students that they don’t agree with the program. If Christian teachers do this, students will rightly conclude that Christians are too timid to tell the adults running the government school that it is a lie, but brave enough to tell KIDS! Wow! How brave! (sarc.)

5) Some Christian teachers have told me that they can sometimes spread a little “salt and light” and they might have some influence on some of the students. If Christian teachers think that they can slyly sneak in a little Christian “salt” , then they are teaching students that Christians are sneaky and sly! Geeze! What an “influence”! (sarc)

If Christ would spit lukewarm, timid, sneaky, sly, sellers of lies out His mouth, I don’t doubt that students would as well! Statistics seem to be to prove this. 85% of Christian children leave the faith within 2 years of graduating from high school. On the other hand, homeschoolers remain 90% or more faithful.

By continuing to teach in government schools, Christian teachers are making the job of the serious missionary much HARDER!

What should Christian teachers be doing once they are fired or quit?

1) They should consider their own children as their most important mission field. They should get their OWN kids out of the government schools.

2) They should be plainly and clearly encouraging other parents to get their kids out of the government schools.

3) The second most important mission field for any Christian teacher are the kids in his own congregation. He should be working hard with his or her minister to open mini-schools, homeschools, micro-schools, and one room school houses within his own congregation. With today’s technology expensive brick and mortar schools are not necessary.

4) Once the congregation has a well functioning system of schools, then invite in other non-members. Christian teachers could be a tremendous resource for ( and missionaries to) these nonmember in teaching good parenting skills, and introducing them to the gospel.

5) Finally, if Harvard can have a 35 BILLION dollar endowment, Christians could do the same for private Christian scholarship foundations. These private foundations could give private vouchers to private Christian schools. The foundations could certify the schools and provide testing for the children. Every child in this nation could and should have the opportunity for a FREE Christian education.

6) It is also time for Christians and Christian schools to break the government monopoly on team sports.

Why are so-called “good” teachers aiding, abetting, going along with, and supporting this?

Hm?,,,,Could it be that most of the teachers in the Maryland government schools are not “good”?

For crying out loud, this is Montgomery County. You have claimed that you once lived in Maryland, so therefore should know full well that MontCo does NOT represent ALL of Maryland.

You answer the question -— we’re talking about MontCo here and you claim to have lived in Maryland. Someone who lived in the state should be able to answer your question better than someone who worked in an entirely different region of the state 20+ years ago.

"Bolling also charged that the Maryland State Board of Education had abdicated its responsibility by allowing Montgomery County arbitrarily to decide that classroom discussion of oral and anal intercourse did not violate a state law against discussions of 'erotic techniques.'"

Classroom discussion of "oral and anal intercourse"? In public schools?

I have been speaking with a teacher about a related topic: Banned Books WebQuest, Part 1. I think what she says and my responses may be of interest to you.

I think Thomas More Center has a good point - nature versus nurture in sexual orientation is not a settled scientific consensus issue so it should not be taught that way.

I’m not sure how you teach sex ed without discussing erotic techniques. If the State wants to eliminate sex ed -that’s within their right but it would be nice if they were direct about it.

Teaching anal sex is sex ed? I guess I need to go back to kindergarten. I must have missed the lesson.

Well, IF you are gonna teach sex ed. And if anal sex is something kids do (and apparently it is, statistically) the lesson would/should include information about tearing and the greatly increased chance of infection.

I don’t see anyway to educate on that without discussing something some would consider erotic.

Thus, my position that the state should decide whether it wants to be in the sex education business at all. If they are gonna do sex ed it needs to deal with sex as the kids practice it, otherwise they should leave that to someone else.

Not when I was in school. Where do these kids get the idea to do this?

Apparently, they are doing more oral and anal sex to avoid pregnancy. Oral sex is apparently viewed as safe against AIDS.

I know I am likely in the minority here on Freep on this but I believe that sexually active kids need information that oral and anal sex carry more risks than they realize and that they inexpensive access to barriers. And that however we feel about that, it is better for society than the alternatives.
