I know that Santorum paid dearly for his endorsement of Arlen Specter in his race against Pat Toomey. Many Conservatives never forgave him.

You are right. Rick was torn between his duty as chair of the Republican Senatorial Committee and his affinity for promoting conservatism. For better or for worse, he chose his duty. I think he was pushed very hard by President Bush.

In any case, I think it will take a few more years of botched government by Rendell and the Dumbocrats before the conservatives here will forgive, forget and unite.

I hope that is not the case at the national level as well. While Pennsylvania can survive a few more years of misrule by the likes of Ed Rendell, I'm not so sure the country can survive four years of Hitler, Obama, McCain or the Huckster.

Don’t underestimate Rudy in Florida...

I truly hope Rudy's chaos theory is faulty, and that the electorate has forgotten him by the end of this month. But, unless Fred can win first, or a damn close second in South Carolina, I fear that we will have a victor in that state that I cannot stand. If Giuliani, Huckabee, or McCain gets the Republican nomination, I will officially not give a damn about the election anymore.
