In San Francisco’s Castro district, home to the highest concentration of gay people in the US, about one in 588 people are carrying the multi-drug resistant bug.

"We probably had it here first, and now it is spreading elsewhere,” said Dr Diep. “This is a national problem, and San Francisco is at the epicenter.”

But just you educators carry on with your program of teaching our school children that the gay lifestyle is totally normal and acceptable, and don't bother to give them any warnings about health risks...

Nothing to see here, move on, we don't want any bigots criticizing our behavior..

A good start on prevention - Quarantine San Franciso. All of these places are just incubators and vectors for this stuff.

Maybe God will take care of that Sodom and Gomorrah by giving it a good shake -

How long will He suffer these miscreants to slaughter the innocents

I wonder if they’ll finally get around to doing quarantine and contact tracing NOW.

If gay men were interested in prevention, AIDS would not be a problem.

Actually that is not true. There is no guarantee of prevention for gay men that "receive".

Even if their partner uses a condom, the lining of the anal passage is not as robust as that of the vagina and will tear a lot more easily when penetrated. Once that has happened, the victim can subsequently self infect themselves with a variety of diseases from their own fecal matter getting into their lesions and tears as they expel it.

Charming, isn't it?

The title is a little misleading. There have been only 2 cases in the UK.

They sound very proud of themselves. If you want to know how this turns out read “And the Band Played On - Politics People and the AIDS Epidemic” by Randy Shilts 1987.

“Maybe God will take care of that Sodom and Gomorrah..”

Don’t badmouth Sodom and Gomorrah - as far as we know, they never proposed gay marriage.

It is thought to be spread by sexual contact, researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

Once this reaches the general population, it will be truly unstoppable,” said Binh Diep, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco who led the study.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Sexual contact is merely ONE way staph aureus is spread.

You are right, but so was I. Yes it is disturbing, but condoms are not prevention, they are merely taking modest precautions that may or may not work. Prevention would be not partaking of the unnatural practice to begin with.

Not what the PC crowd will say, but there is one fool proof way to prevent, just as there is for pregnancy. Condoms are not the way, for either. And condom do not always work.

The two situation are only similar in that the agenda behind both, in regard to prevention relating to condoms (and abortions), is that a person has not choice about sexual activity. Which of course is absolutely false.

My ex boss had this. She thought she had a brown recluse spider bite (as I’m understanding alot of these boils are being mistaken for)until they did an analysis of the puss and it turned out to be the MRSA. A few weeks later a lady got the pnuemonia MRSA and brought her IV Antibiotic bag to hang at work!!! I pitched a fit and finally convinced the higher ups this crap was CONTAGIOUS and they forced both of them to take sick leave until healed. My cousin died from the pnuemonia kind as it went into her heart and she died before she could get a heart transplant, I don’t play with it. And she was coughing all over the place. Nice lady, good employee, but just kind of ignorant I think.

Annals of Internal Medicine
I bet that name has been the butt of a joke or two.

I have to admit snorting a little when I read it.

Monkey flu ? I thought that the monkey was tied in with AIDS.

I mean I always heard that the way aids got to humans was when that one guy said “Honest officer I was just helping this monkey over the fence”.

Anyway I’m still worked up about global cooling from my youth that I don’t have time to worry about anything else except higher taxes.
