I was fortunate. I was young, fast, and a U.S. Secret Service friend of the family taught my brother and I to "shoot" subguns, and handguns effectively, under various conditions.

Fortunately, nobody was shot. The fact that my aggressor was in an early 1970s "tank" probably saved him, because I went into "training mode" when the shooting started. But he DID shoot first. Everybody thinks they know what they're going to do in a gun fight, but it's just not true. Staying OUT of a gun fight has a lot to do with SURVIVING the gun fight! :-)

The LEOs interviewed everybody, and I only spent a LITTLE time in the back seat handcuffed. A couple of people in the aggressor's vehicle collaborated my story and they let me go. :-) I had to I.D. the shooter in court, but otherwise all I was left with was a bad memory and some experience that I couldn't get anywhere else. :-)
