Greatest Rush Monologue Ever? The Democrat Party Uncivil War(with video)

Yes, great monologue. But here’s the question that Rush NEVER answers (or even tries to address).
Why hasn’t the Republican party coalesced around a conservative candidate for president?

Wrong. He has done exactly that many times. The last time I heard him address exactly your concerns was Friday, January 4th. He opened the show with it. I remember it because I was on my way to hunting camp. I'll give you the short and sweet of his answer: "In presidential elections, conservatism works every time it's tried." I'm pretty sure those are exactly his words.

Don't blame Rush for the lack of conservatism in the current batch of candidates. The fact that they're running on populism instead of conservatism isn't his fault. He can lead the horses to water, but he can't make them drink.

Thanks for posting this stuff. Been busy with year end accounting and taxes. Must have been even more amazing hearing it live.

So Hillary insinuated that giving ones live for a civil rights cause, as Martin Luther King did, was not as valuable or worthy as when President Johnson signed congressional civil rights legislation. What the idiot Clinton apparently fails to realize, is that if MLK had not devoted his life to the civil rights cause, there may not have been any legislation for Johnson to sign in the first place.

But my question is, if there are so many conservatives out there, why hasn’t a conservative candidate emerged? (By that I mean, made it into the top tier.)

There ARE conservative candidates out there-—Fred and Duncan, for example. Even if they are not everyone’s cup of tea, from a conservative point of view, I’d think that they’d be viewed as miles better than our present “top-tier.”

So why are they basically not registering at all? See, I honestly believe that Rush is right that “conservatism wins every time it’s tried.” I honestly believe that Rush is right that there are loads of conservatives out there. So, my question is, why aren’t they supporting the more conservative candidates?

If it’s because they think those candidates can’t win, then they don’t really agree that “conservatism wins every time it’s tried.” Or if it’s because they’re not really THAT conservative, then is it true that “conservatism wins every time it’s tried”?

What I’m saying is where/why is there a disconnect here? If enough people want something-—such as red sneakers-—before too long the stores will be stocked with red sneakers. Same in politics, don’t you think? If enough people want a conservative candidate, it seems to me Fred and Duncan Hunter would not be so far behind. They would emerge in the same way Obama emerged out of nowhere-—because they fit the bill (or fit the bill better than others) for conservatives.

I guess just don’t know what to make of this. Because, again, I do agree wholeheartedly with Rush on this. But I don’t know why, then, the what-should-be-the natural result of all this existing conservatism out there hasn’t occurred.

Look...I'm frustrated too. I would vote for either Fred or Duncan. I think the disconnect lies in the media attention this early in the process. On top of that, neither Fred nor Duncan has the oratory skills of Reagan, nor the camera appeal. Fred is an actor, but he can't control the camera like Reagan could. Great speaking ability has so much to do with that. If you don't give the media a juicy soundbite, they won't cover it. Reagan was the master of innuendo. He would say something that was literal and straight-forward, but the underlying message was so much more. Give it some time. It's still early yet.

I just can’t buy the “it’s the MSM” thing or any of that. I agree with you that that is part of the problem. But in this day and age, people who care-—even a little-—can find things out for themselves. And conservatives, by definition, care and care a lot.

So why the more conservative candidates are getting nowhere is a mystery to me.

People who aren’t conservative, and who don’t “see” conservatism as something that many people ascribe to, look at this and conclude, “Told ya! People really aren’t as conservative as you think, and there certainly aren’t as many conservatives as you think.”

And, although I disagree with that, I don’t find a good answer to it.
