I don’t know if I totally ‘got’ where the author was going with the piece, yet I don’t see it to be a ‘freaky display of celebrity deification’!I'm betting that the author was making a point on the infuence of conservatism. After all, I'm sure it wasn't a 'freaky display of celebrity deification.' :-)
And, of course, there was the innocuous Happy Birthday. That's pretty self-explanatory.

Thank you for posting this. Every time I hear one of the RINO supporters on FR say so and so "is the best we are able to get" or a particular RINO "is the only chance we have to win in November" I think about Rush's take on compromising conservatism. Some folks will just never get it through their heads.
