Stifling the www? Online Freedom of Speech Act (H.R. 1606)

"1606 is needed because federal courts have ordered the Federal Election Commission to regulate "electioneering communications" on the Internet because of the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act (McCain-Feingold). If H.R. 1606 fails to become law, your Web site or blog could be shut down for the 30 days prior to a primary election and the 60 days prior to a general election should you express "electioneering communications."

LOL! You're close.

Fred great, Mitt good, Rudy fine, but most of the article was about Mitt.

The huge loser tonight was Mike Huckabee, thanks largely to Fred and Chris Wallace who peeled the bark off of Huck's ideology.

Hugh Hewitt is FOS.

I’ve mentioned it before, but Fred’s debate performances remind me of Nixon in 1960. If you just listen to the audio, he is head and shoulders above the other candidates. On TV, he does not present himself as well. He doesn’t smile, he looks down at his notes frequently, and has something of a dour expression.

People want a friendly image, which is something Governor Gomer has presented. BJ did it with his lip-biting and “I feel your pain.” Someone has to coach him as a candidate.

The best answer of the night, by far - in fact, quite possibly the best answer EVER ; ) was this one:
click.

(once you get past the slightly rude way the moderator asked the question, and the juvenile snickering from the RINOs)

I know most here hate Paul, but if differing opinions are allowed, I just wanted to say that. I also liked his answers on the economy, immigration, and Israel.

His remarks on Israel were spot on and frankly made Huckabee look stupid for his rant that had nothing to do with anything.

“I hope the Acme Kneepad Company keeps Hugh Hewitt in good supply cause he sure doesn’t miss a moment to go goo goo eyed for Mitt.”

That’s a really cheap shot. Hugh Hewitt has radio money and wouldn’t be caught dead in those cheep @ss Acme kneepads. Hugh wears custom made kneepads from the Monica Kneepad Company.

So what.

That’s like saying it is constitutional to throw all your nukes away.

Still deadly.

It is not unconstitutional to take war to your enemies homes instead of fighting it in your own home.

Paul is completely clueless as to why Islamist hate us and as to what their actual intentions are.

THAT is why I hope and pray that FRed! is not in league with McCain, as in turning over his delegates if and when he drops out. May be a baseless rumor, but they are “friends” as both have publicly attested.

LOL!

Not sure...because it's my personal belief that even if Jesus Christ was the GOP nominee in November it's going to be Clinton-Dole redux. The pubbies can't catch a break...we're going to hear "It's the Economy Stupid", and that issue will trump all others.

His foreign policy is Constitutional.

And is support for the Iraq war unconstitutional?

Article 1 section 8 of the Constitution says that the Congress has the power to declare war. It does not say how the Congress is to declare war. So if they pass a joint resolution that gives the president the authorization to go to war with Iraq, how is that unconstitutional? You know Article 1 section 8 also gives the Congress the power to coin money. Are there any congressman that actually coin our money?

I assume you are a Ron Paul nut. You guys think you know so much about the Constitution, but the fact is all you know is what Ron Paul tells you is in the Constitution.

It’s funny how Ron Paul always points back to the founding fathers when talking about how unconstitutional we are behaving in regards to the war in Iraq. Yet one founder (Jefferson the writer of the Declaration of Independence) did not get a formal declaration of war from Congress but waged the Barbary Pirates war. What was it about? Keeping our sea lanes free and open for our economy. Another founder (James Madison, writer of the Bill of Rights) waged the War of 1812 which was again about keeping sea lanes open for our trade. What does Ron Paul say about that? I think James Madison and Thomas Jefferson would have understood exactly what we were doing by going to war in Iraq.
