“Paul, who ended up fifth in the Iowa caucus last week with 10 percent of the votes, is becoming immensely popularity among the American youth as well as the educated elite.”

Sounds like he’s eating into the lib base.

Paul is way too critical of free enterprise and capitalism for me.

“That’s fascism? Man, the bar has really been set low.”

It’s the softer side of Fascism. Fascism lite.

But there are no SWAT teams in cities that don’t want SWAT teams, to the best of my knowledge.

And which cities over 50,000 turned down the fed’s ninjabux?

Turning down the dollars is not the same as saying "no, we don't want a SWAT team" with the feds replying "oh, but you must have a SWAT team! Unt you vill use it to break into ze homes of your citizens!".

Again, offering the grant money is not the same as creating, manning, directing and deploying the force.

It will all make sense to you if you re-read the title of this thread.

[Americans as a group are more culturally socialist than many other people,]

As a group? Is this a modifier from your last post in which you said "Americans are ... (implying all Americans")? Do you have some particular size in mind for this American "group"?

[ ... such as the so called communist Chinese.]

So, communist Chinese is a misnomer in referring to China?

[ I've never seen an American mob forcibly remove a tax collector from a market. I've seen this in Beijing.]

I wasn't aware that our Government, State, County, or City tax collectors ever try to collect taxes in an (open air?) market.

Does this mean that the Chinese Governmental agencies can't collect taxes?

Are you sure you want to use this as an example of (so-called communist) Chinese citizens vs American citizens?

[When it comes to medicine, housing, agriculture, R&D, education, etc, etc, socialism is the instrument of choice in the US.]

Soooo, let's see:

Leftists in America have managed to implement socialist Government policies in America over the objections of Conservative Americans, and therefore all Americans are culturally socialists.

But ....

Communists in China have managed to implement communist Government policies in China (with, I think at least some opposition), but the Chinese can only be identified as "so-called" communists.

That is some strange logic. And to see it posted by someone on a clearly Conservative forum (the forum owner's forum goals are right on the front page), is odd indeed.

I notice that you didn't answer my question about whether you are an American. Perhaps this time you will answer that question?

So, communist Chinese is a misnomer in referring to China?

Absolutely. The Chinese government is Fascistic, far more dangerous than mere Communism as Fascism combines the dynamic incentives of the marketplace with totalitarian politics.

The Chinese at the street level are the most dynamic enterprising people on Earth. That's why they have a trade surplus that is funding the expansion of OUR Federal Government.

Let me put it this way. The average Chinese knows through the school of hard knocks that Socialism does not work.

Meanwhile, the overwhelming majority of American, home of the fee land of the slave run to Mommy government when the stock market drops, when the real estate market corrects, when agriculture prices are "wrong", to raise their kids in the socialist indoctrination camps that pass for schools...and on and on and on....

Leftists in America have managed to implement socialist Government policies in America over the objections of Conservative Americans, and therefore all Americans are culturally socialists.

What a load of crap. Over the objections? Try "with the active collaboration of Republicans". Don't piss on my leg and tell me its raining. The Republicans are in mind even more guilty than the Dems in this matter. At least the Dems openly admit to being Socialists while the Republicans are backstabbing socialist enablers.

Ah, now I think we’re getting very, very close to agreement. While I wouldn’t go so far as to say “the overwhelming majority of Americans ...”, “I could easily agree with “Far, far too Many Americans ...” (the modifier you finally applied to Americans was what I was trying to draw out from you).

I said “over the objections of Conservative Americans”, not Republicans. I am a Conservative, not a Republican. Legitimate Conservative Americans are as concerned as you are about what you wrote in the paragraph above (I know I am). I was, and will continue to point out to posters that they should be cautious of using too wide a brush when describing something.

LOL, sounds like we flogged this mule long enough. I wasn’t pissing on your leg, my Mamma told me not to do that about 50+ years ago.

Have a good evening.
