The Iranian Navy could provide some nice target practice for the USN... :-)

The fact that they did NOT say it was a “Victorious confrontation with the Great Satan” tells me something..

Iran has a navy? Oh, yeah, that’s right: those speed boats and skiffs with trolling motors. Well, it was enough to capture a British Royal Navy craft and crew. The US Navy, though, is a different matter altogether.

Twenty years after the USS Stark, and we’re still letting them get away with it.

They have Silkworm anti-ship missiles from North Korea and some sophisticated sea mines. Two of our ships were damaged by their mines during the first Gulf War. They aren’t a significant sea power, but they could be very irritating if they decide to shut down the straights.

“Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Monday that a confrontation between Iranian boats and U.S. Navy ships in the Persian Gulf over the weekend was “something normal” “

It suggested the Iranian boats had not recognized the U.S. vessels. And I have a bridge to sell.
