C’MON RON!!!! 3RD OR 4TH PLACE FINISH! THAT’S STILL HIGHER THAN MCCAIN AND GIULIANI!!
To: sdnet
And still finished 5th meaning he is a fringe going now where wack job candidate who has NO business being in the race.
Given Iowa’s long history of populist politics, and Paul’s inability to break out of single digits in any other state, his dismale showing in Iowa indicates the “Paul Revolution” is dead.

Who wants to bet that neither one will be the nominee?
To: sdnet
I think most of Paul’s supporters were hoping for better than 5th.

I’m glad he whomped Giuliani, even though Mr. 9/11 didn’t really compete in Iowa. I do wish Paul could have beaten McLovin, but I think a double-digit finish shows that he’s still in this race, considering that Iowa is probably not where his strongest support lies. Having the top five candidates all break double digits also shows that there is no clear GOP leader thus far.

Didn’t Bill Clinton get only 3% in Iowa in 1992?
To: liege
He didn’t campaign there since a native son (Harkin) was running. So the 92 Dem Iowa numbers are pretty much meaningless.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
After the Paulbots ran around here last month claiming their boy was going to finish 2nd or 3rd, his 5th place finish in Iowa is a total disaster.
Given Iowa’s long history of populists politics, Paul’s 5th place finish indicates that despite their Paulbot’s zeal, there is utterly no really strength to Paul’s campaign. If Paul cannot do well in Iowa, he cannot do well anywhere.

Hey—that is ten percent that Hitlery didnt get.....the question you might seek to get answered is now many republicans switched parties before this vote? Also how many dems switched parties?
Lots of people in this area are switching parties in order to wreck primary votes........hadnt thought of that???

I see Paul moving right on up. The Huckster will not move up. This guy is a liberal, amnesty lovin , tax raiser from hell and 67% of the party thinks he sucks. Thompson is organic history in a bag. Thompson will fold like a lounge chair. Look for Ron to do really well in New Hampshire where REAL conservatives actually live. Congratulations !!
