"The WORST declinists, sadly, seem to be on the right. The doom and gloomers...."

                                                                                        "...Federal Fiscal Policy Remains Unsustainable"

The democrat GAO report is an good example of a bad example of what we're talking about.

The dems ignore the fact that the impact of the national debt is a fraction of what it had been, and even if we look at the debt in nominal terms it's still miniscule compared to total personal wealth.   So what they end up doing is admit we've had "recent gains" and then they toss in their big "BUT" --a set of goofy computer simulations that would put a global warmer to shame.

Well I thought your tagline was a criticism of Reagan. In other words, I thought you were espousing precisely the position that you were criticizing. You might want to give that some thought.

True, and we are depending on you to keep that behavior in check.

Interesting that you had the stones to identify yourself as the "we". Was that intentional or was it a unintentional slip that reveled your actual views but would have rather not admitted to knowingly?

This is the kind of article I am tempted to spam everyone I know with. (But I won’t.)

I hear ya. It's good to read one like this from time to time.

I was thinking about asking for clarification myself. It is a little hard to figure out, I had to read some of your posts to figure out which direction you were coming from...

Not really, what needs more thought is the goofy idea that somehow anyone who disagrees on fiscal policy can be called a "traitor".

Russ, you don't like Clem's tagline.  Fine.  That doesn't give me the right to call you say, a child molester.   Idiot protectionists have found they've no recourse with reason, values, and facts, so they abuse these threads with personal attacks.   IMO it's gotten way out of hand and needs a firm hand.

“Not really, what needs more thought is the goofy idea that somehow anyone who disagrees on fiscal policy can be called a “traitor”.”

But that’s exactly what I thought he was doing.

I don’t care if he changes his tagline or not. I’m just telling him that he is confusing people into thinking he is calling Reagan a traitor.
