MEXICO CITY - Lorenzo Martinez, an illegal immigrant who has lived in Los Angeles for six years, has a message for his kin in Mexico's Hidalgo state: Stay put. "Better not to come," Martinez said of anyone thinking about crossing into the U.S. illegally. "The situation is really bad."

Dayum, I wish I had $1000 extra every month. Maybe I should camp out at day labor sites and not pay taxes.A related article at the website reported that illegals were siphoning off money and sending it to mexico at the rate of 2 billion dollars a month. That's a lot of cashflow, month after month, sucked out of the local US economies, never to return.

"Better not to come," Martinez said of anyone thinking about crossing into the U.S. illegally. "The situation is really bad." Regrettably, I think this has more to do with the economy than the effectiveness of our enforcement.

"
Somebody forgot to tell the criminal illegal aliens here in Dallas. There are so many now that they were standing on street corners to be picked up for cash labor at 9:30 Christmas morning. And not just a few, I saw about 100 total in about 5 blocks on Ross Av. At 9:30 Christmas morning."
When, because of economic slowdown and more strict employer enforcement, these "fine" folk begin to run desperate enough to rob and murder a few of their felon enablers, will we just shrug those acts off as collateral effects of engaging in criminal behavior?
