American Conservative is a relatively obscure mag that represents “paleoconservative” views and hates “neocons.”
Is this magazine associated with Pat Buchanan?
Yup. It was founded by Pat Buchanan
“Had I been more attentive over the years, I might have been less surprised by the mayor’s hard-line neoconservative stance. I had forgotten that while U.S. attorney in New York, Giuliani tried to close the PLO’s New York office. As mayor, he made headlines in 1995, when he had Arafat ejected from a concert at Lincoln Center. In a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition this fall, Rudy pointed to this incident as emblematic of his leadership style: “I didn’t hesitate, like Hillary Clinton hesitates to answer questions on what she’s going to do about Iran. I didn’t seek to negotiate with him, like Barack Obama would do or says he’d do with these people. I didn’t call for a team of lawyers to help me. ... I just made a decision. See, I lead. That’s what [being a] leader is about.”
THIS is what a “conservative” magazine is bashing Giuliani for?! Giuliani should be more like Hillary or Obama — is that the conservative message?!
The author, Michael C. Desch, is a terrorist apologist.

Here is one:
“Indeed, on the eve of the 2000 Camp David talks, the Palestinians had legitimate grounds to be disillusioned with the Oslo process. Israel had spent much of the previous seven years pursuing peace with Jordan and Syria rather than working consistently with the Palestinians. While pushing Arafat to come to Camp David to reach a final settlement, Barak simultaneously backed away from Israelâs obligations to undertake a third redeployment of Israeli forces in the Occupied Territories, transfer three Arab villages bordering Jerusalem to Palestinian control, and release a significant number of Palestinian prisoners. From the Palestiniansâ point of view, Barakâs willingness to withdraw from Lebanon and unwillingness to fulfill Israelâs obligations to them was indicative of Israelâs shaky commitment to a fair, lasting peace. “

I just realized (from reading another article) that “The American Conservative” is PAT BUCHANAN’s publication. As we all know, he is against the Wot, the war on Iraq, and thinks we should sit in “Fortress America”.
“Scott McConnell founded The American Conservative with Pat Buchanan and Taki Theodoracopulos in 2002.”

No 'we' don't. You may have been brainwashed. Buchanan was for getting bin Laden for his attack on us. For some cross-eyed reason, Bush decided to attack Iraq instead of bin Laden. Buchanan is against fighting wars for Kosovo, Israel, Korea, Formosa, Kuwait and other entangling alliances. He does not put any country before America and is for defending America only.
If you want to continue to roam like a free range chicken, keep a low profile on the CA Topic until your mess is cleaned up.
That is rubbish. There's no "instead of". Bush ordered an invasion of Afghanistan, which was OBL's last known location. The invasion of Iraq that he ordered later was not ordered "instead of" something else. We are still trying to get OBL to the extent possible. It's not as if OBL is known to be in some specific place and Bush said "no, let's not get him there, let's invade Iraq instead". The fact is that nobody knows where OBL is (least of all you) and so even if the President were to say "let's put 100% of our GNP into getting OBL!!" this would not guarantee us any higher probability of getting OBL than we already have. If you think otherwise, this can only mean you think you know where OBL is. Where is he? Do tell.
Buchanan is against fighting wars for Kosovo, Israel, Korea, Formosa, Kuwait and other entangling alliances. He does not put any country before America and is for defending America only.
And lacks the imagination to apprehend how there can be times that the defense of America could be served by opposing tyrants elsewhere (and in the process defending other countries). Yes, perhaps this is accurate, sadly.
Giuliani = Liberal
Has our Party gone the way of the dinosaurs?
Have we lost our values?
If we elect a man who supports gay rights and is pro-choice, we can no longer call ourselves conservative. Have we sunk so low that we would elect a person who dresses in drag? Marches in gay pride parades? Giuliani is a liberal running as a conservative. He's pro-amnesty, pro-gun control, and pro-gay. He is intelligent and has governed New York City successfully, BUT he is not a true conservative by any measure. Conservatives wake up?
God help us if we elect a liberal.
