If you read the article, that is actually in the first paragraph, so I doubt that is the story he is hinting at now. It sounds like the scandal is separate from that story.
He basically says to the reporter that it seems "strange" to him that anyone could live with 3 gay men, and not be gay themselves? Don't know about that logic.
