>>”Anti-immigrant zealot [that would be me] had already won. Now even Dems dance to his no mas salsa tune. <<
I love salsa...wouldn’t surprise me to find out Tancredo likes salsa too - to the very end the media tries to blur the line between immigrant and illegal immigrant, between Mexican American and Mexican illegal and now even between salsa and illegal salsa.
Kudos for Tancredo for raising the issue and for keeping that distinction clear.

Right, the letter didn't seem to say anything about an endorsement. I read in another thread that he endorsed Romney, though.
I'm kinda disappointed, I must admit.

so why throw your support anyone else?

Isn’t Mr. Romney better than Mr. Huckabbe or Mr. Guiliani on the issue of illegal immigration/border security?

I haven’t seen anything about Tancredo endorsing Romney, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Bay is Mormon now, and she’s probably pushing him for that reason, and to spite Huckabee.
If he does endorse, I think it comes down to Romney or Thompson and which one of those two has the money, organization and support to beat out Huckabee and Guiliani.

I liked his stance of illegal immigration. His dropping out reminded of when John Kasich dropped out of the presid’l race in ‘00. That was a blow for me then because a few weeks earlier I volunteered to work in his campaign.

My fear is that if I were to stay in this race my votes could be the factor in handing victory to a pro-amnesty politician. If only a couple other candidates would do the same...then Fred could propel to the top.

Yes but not better than Fred.
He should’ve endorsed Fred.

The poster “pissant” posted in a headline that Tancredo had endorsed Romney, but there was nothing in the linked page to support the assertion (at least that I could see).

I havent seen anything about Tancredo endorsing Romney, but it wouldnt surprise me. Bay is Mormon now, and shes probably pushing him for that reason, and to spite Huckabee. You know, as soon as I saw this endorsement, I thought, "Tanc's got a Mormon connexion. That's the only conceivable reason why he'd endorse a soft-on-illegals RINO like Mitt over true conservatives like Thompson or Hunter." Then, ah yes, he is connected with Bay Buchanan - a Mormon convert who has a lot of influence with him.

Isnt Mr. Romney better than Mr. Huckabbe or Mr. Guiliani on the issue of illegal immigration/border security? Not really. If you go by what he says, then maybe, but then Huck and Rudy also say the same these days.
Romney did nothing as governor to stop sanctuary cities in Massachusetts. He's been pro-amnesty in the recent past.
Tancredo just made a fool out of himself, and, unfortunately, his former supporters.
