Annual spending by Florida anglers is three times greater than the cash receipts from the state's orange crop ($4.4 billion vs. 1.2 billion).

I was stuned when I read that. I guess that puts it in perspective.

I doubt they have figures posted for sportsman's $$/ population but I’ll bet we still rank pretty high with only 10 million total pop.

Whatever it is, this RAT governor has cut it in half in 4 1/2 years.

““No one needs a handgun or assault rifle with a large capacity magazine to hunt or fish. Gun control is essential to keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of children and criminals.”

DNC talking point.

No one needs a car that will go 160 when we have 70 MPH speed limits, however many of us have them, including most of our anti gun zealots I would guess. . Most, if not all, never use all of that reserve speed, but we like to have it.

Thanks for the link. I knew that Vermont’s warm weather tourism was rising, with fishing and camping, and we get a lot of hunters in our area, but I wasn’t sure about the effect on the economy.

I think Vermont is largely a tourist, farming, and logging state, since the government has managed to drive out most industries.

Big spenders?

For target shooters that spend from 3 to 7 days at an event you are talking several dollars for food, lodging etc etc

For example 1,000 to 1,500 Sporting Clays shooters will drop many a dollar in an area where an event is held.

I don't know if this is included in the above figures.

“Never trust a demonRAT.”

.......keep a sharp eye on Hillary....when Bill was in the White House he diverted Pittman-Robinson funds* to anti-hunting groups....I have no doubt Hillary would do the same.

*....the Pittman-Robinson Act of 1937 placed an 11% excise tax on guns and ammo....the money was to go to wildlife conservation.

Thanks for the ping. This is some really good info. I’ve shared it with friends on my favorite hunting forum as well.

Thanks again.
