He’s another nanny-stater that will increase the size of government in the name of compassion.

his recent ad is an obvious attempt to use the Birth of Christ in a commercial effort to win over voters, which I do find troublesome. Yep, it's troublesome. What next, Rootie doing a commercial with a photo of the twin towers behind him?

I think there is too much criticism of Mike Huckabee at Free Republic.

There is something sinister going on here with the MSM endorsing Huck the Christian pastor, while blasting Bush for his Christian principles. GW Bush looks pretty good compared to these presidential wannabees.

Bunk. It is a nice Christmas message.
Once everyone destroys Huckabee we are going to be back looking at the same sorry mugs we have been staring at for months. The GOP can't win because we have chopped ourselves up with the big-tent axe. We can't agree on anything anymore. Who and what is the GOP? I don't even know myself anymore.

If Huckabee is dumb and still ahead of the other candidates, what does that say about the other candidates?

The problem is not his Christianity. The Problem is Huckabee’s socialism.

I think there is too much criticism of Mike Huckabee at Free Republic. Free Republic is a conservative site where conservative candidates are backed and liberals are criticized. Huckabee is not a conservative and criticism of him on a conservative site like FR is natural and should be expected.

They’re not as good at pandering...

If the Iowa caucus is just to select the “more christian than you” candidate who will lose in later primary states then the Iowa caucus is truly irrelvant.

Maybe...
But since when does a “conservative” blog site support nanny state politicians, even nice well intended ones?
To: don-o
I think the comments should be more mixed. I see next to nothing positive about Huckabee.
I think there is more positive said about Giuliani— which is ridiculous. I guess Giuliani is the real conservative in this race.
I actually dislike several of the public stands Huckabee has made but I don’t get the sense of an argument at FR— I get the sense of a smear.
