From the time I was five years old until I got out of college, I lived in NW/NC Iowa, and didn't appreciate how much common sense there was in that area until I moved farther to the E. I wish there were more job opportunities out in "Siouxland" for an over-the-hill guy of my parts, because despite all the "too flat and nothing to see" naysayers, it is still "home" in ways both large and small.

Compounding the anger, the Register debate was the final and only Iowa forum right before the caucuses because a joint gathering sponsored by Fox News and the Iowa GOP fell through last month when some contenders declined to participate. Hawkeye State Republicans were unhappy then with the candidates' unspoken but obvious preference to participate in the Register debate instead of their own.
The disgusting Iowa debate is exactly the kind of debate that the "top tier" candidates like.
Now, it is like Tom Harkin, an embarrassment to our state.
I wish this state didn’t have such a fondness for socialism. Between ag subsidies and Social Security, we have to be one of the highest per capita states for taking govt entitlements.
The whole thing is infantile. It isn’t worth wasting the brain cells. Complete drivel!!!!
Neither of them were prompted to reply however Fred took the lead and covered for all the candidates.
He is bestowed with an ability to lead.
I wish this state didnt have such a fondness for socialism.
The answer to your states predicament with your concern is obvious. ; )
Gannett Newspapers are militantly liberal -- I've dealt with several of them. Editors and staff are chosen specifically on the basis of their politics. It's nice to see a Marxist Gannett editor finally exposed to the country for what she is. Unfortunately, it'll probably be tucked away in the national Memory Hole and this very powerful chain will continue its insidious propaganda.
Gannett's only one of several ultra-liberal newspaper chains that mostly control "news" (along with AP) in America's small towns. The chain that offers an "alternative" to the Communist L.A. Times in our area is the E.W. Scripps Newspaper Group. It maintains a vise-like stranglehold on small communities northwest of L.A. They all offer the same thin Marxist gruel as the Times.
I believe Media General is also a liberal pipe organ.....
