This bears repeating again and again.
Psalm 46 - God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken and mountains quake to the depths of the sea, Though its waters rage and foam and mountains totter at its surging. The LORD of hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob. Selah!

My guess is that they were afraid that the shooter would shoot at them if they missed.

Didn’t they also find forensic evidence that proved he was also in on the other killings at YWAM?

the dead people are in His presence right now, praising Him and having the time of their lives. That’s what Christians do. Death is just the beginning of real life. Their families are the ones who are suffering right now, but even they know where their family members are.

UPDATE: According to an eyewitness, Larry Bourbonnais, quoted in the Denver Post, two male security guards with guns drawn refused to return fire and also refused to give their pistols to church members willing to shoot the assassin.Proverbs 25:26 - Like a trampled spring and a polluted well is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.

Well, gee whiz, if you can't stand the heat . . . . you need to find another job.
I've actually had to draw down twice, never had to fire a shot in anger (they ran away) . . . but I don't see how you can look at yourself in the mirror if you don't engage a murderous maniac and the people you're supposed to be protecting die as a result . . . .

Rom 13~~ The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong.Nice shooting!

If this church had Virginia Tech’s anti-gun policy it frightening to think what might have happened at this church.

UPDATE: The Colorado Springs police force responded very quickly, but still it took two minutes for the first officers to reach the scene, by which time it was all over. Most departments stress tactics that call for the first responders to wait for overwhelming force before attempting to enter an active shooting scene. If this is true in Colorado Springs, it could very easily have taken police officers 30 minutes or longer to subdue the shooter. I don't know where you got that info, but it's dead wrong. The updated protocol since Columbine has been first two officers on scene go directly to the threat in an active shooter situation. No waiting for backup, no waiting for the swat team. First two officers on scene go straight to the shooting.

People of faith can rest knowing they are in a far better place, like in the presence of the Lord! I guess it’s like the saying goes...”You never know what tomorrow will bring”. It’s comforting to know where you’ll spend eternity.
