Walters said every couple with more than two children should be taxed to pay for enough trees to offset the carbon emissions generated over each child’s lifetime.
....That’ll go done well in Harlem.....
To: ZGuy
This works nicely with Clinton’s $5000 baby credit.

"Far from showering financial booty on new mothers and rewarding greenhouse-unfriendly behaviour, a 'baby levy' in the form of a carbon tax should apply . . ."Hey, I've got a great idea. Why doesn't the U.N. collect the taxes? Then we'll be assured of fairness. < /sarcasm>

Barry Walters should start collecting his baby tax in the Muslim countries first. They are the ones with the highest birthrates on the planet. The Western countries aren’t even replacing themselves and will soon have too few citizens to pay screwballs like Walters at their universities.
To: ZGuy
I have an even better idea, all those greenies should just off themselves now and reduce the population. Al Gore and Robert Redford probably use more resources than a thousand babies.

Ha ha, we think alike, only I suggested that they follow their convictions and take care of it themselves.

And of course, those who are too poor to pay the tax should have it paid for them by the “wealthy”.

Writing in today's Medical Journal of Australia, Associate Professor Barry Walters said every couple with more than two children should be taxed to pay for enough trees to offset the carbon emissions generated over each child's lifetime. What if you only have one child, or none? Do you get a tax credit?
What a stupid idea.

Stupid money grubbing fool.
Let every family that raises a child plant ten trees. That will “offset the carbon” just fine. If we do this carbon offset crap it will just funnel more money to the hyper wealthy who will spend it jetting around the world for lunch out and a trip to tiffanys creating far more polution than if we just burned the money.
