Thank you for your input.
It seems the SHM (Stop Huckabee Movement) is in full swing this fine morning.
I am the governor and I want you to be free. I can arrange that, if you promise not to rape any more cheerleaders. Will you try to be a good doo-be? Please think about a life without rape and murder, OK? Would that be alright with you?
Your Pal and Ticket to Missouri,
Huck
Well now, writing a hot check is a far cry from beating somebody to death with a pipe, now isn't it?
I'll ask you again. Doesn't it bother you whatsoever that he had personal ties to many that he pardoned?
BTW how long have you been pro-Huckabee?
He DID want to do it. He announced his intention, and then, by law, had to wait 30 to 90 days to make the final decision. But the public objected. Four days before the deadline, the parole board gave DuMond parole. Only after that did Gov. Huckabee send the letter to DuMond that said,(in effect)....Dear Mr.DuMond: Since you are getting paroled, you no longer need me to commute your sentence.
So we should just let Huck ride to the top and say nothing? I have been told I was trashing Rudy, Fred and now Hucklebee. I seem to have hit the trifecta. I am not sure about Mitt they usually just post me some info to try to put a spin on whatever I posted.
No one is trashing anyone. If you as a Steeler fan, posted Tom Bradys statistics, or wrote about one of his bad games, that isn’t bashing. Hucklebee has had a lot of bad games and Tom Brady isn’t running for the leader of the free world.
I think we have already filled the quota on ex Arkansas Governors as POTUS.
What does that matter? At least several of his early releases/clemency/commutation/etc. cases DID repeat offend - with the most notorious of the cases Huckabee had a hand in - Dumond, not only re-offending, but then murdering in the state Huckabee brokered the release too.
Please read the article!
A pastor who promoted Huckabee among blacks urged the governor to grant clemency to John Henry Claiborne, who was sentenced to 100 years for a 1994 armed robbery, according to a 2004 report in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Huckabee made Claiborne eligible for parole after receiving a letter from the Rev. Charles Williams, who told the newspaper he had helped win "many, many" clemencies from Huckabee.
Huckabee deserves to be scrutinized as heavily as anybody else. There’s a lot of questionable stuff here.
LOL! I love FR Humor!!
Sure, we can save resources and dump juries, since their decision is wrong. Does anyone think that the intent of the executive pardon system is to willy-nilly decide which convicts have a minister friend and which do not?
Perhaps Arkansans can tell us also, what kind of judges did Huckabee appoint? With these pardons it almost looks as if Huckabee was more soft on crime than Clinton!
LLS
Yawn. Nice try but you still don’t win the Kewpie doll.
Find a credible source that points to Reagan pardoning twice more convicts than his previous three predecessors combined, pardoning some of them for votes as well as personal relationships, and we’ll talk.
“It seems the SHM (Stop Huckabee Movement) is in full swing this fine morning.”
And from what I can see for good reason.
So, an article describing verifiable actions of a former governer who is running for POTUS and exposes his ENORMOUSLY high rate of pardons along with the relational circumstances surrounding many of them should be minimized or ignored by those reading?
Please newbie. Don’t blame me if your guy’s past leniency can’t stand up to voters scrutiny and standards. If his actions as governor generate concern about his judgement , why shouldn’t we quite reasonably be concerned about the MUCH more weighty decisions he’d be making as POTUS??
How defensive you are to call my posts “attacks”. There’s blood in the water on this issue and it’s by the Huckleberry’s own hand....over and over again apparently.
BTW, do you read taglines?
