The only sure way to accomplish that is to drill domestically.
And the Dems and Repubs are not going to allow that.
They're beholden to way too many special interest groups to serve the American taxpayer and do what's best for America.
I give Woolsey credit for at least being fairly consistent. He’s pushed
this idea of getting the USA more energy dependent (by any and all
means) when he appears on panels on BookTV (C-Span2) and his family
drives hybrids.
That’s a LOT more than I can say for the VAST majority of the “green”
people that I’v met in academia, some at a purty-dern liberal university.
We could go to coal based fuel fairly easy. And the bio diesel from depolymerizaiton can be used for just about all fatty waste from meat packing.
But that won’t happen. To many people have a vested interest in oil to let it.

Another freakin’ moron from the Beltway!!! Bottom line it’s time to power up the country full speed ahead. Drill in ANWR, drill off the the coasts and in the Gulf. Help Canada develop the oil sands. Screw the NIMBY’s and start building more oil refineries and nuke plants. If we don’t China and Russia will pass us and our grand kids will live in a3rd world country.
