I mean a America that has a significant Hispanic cultural influence to it. You know, the one that is inevitable because not enough of the old America bothered to have children or aborted the one’s that were conceived.

Then we'll be replacing America with Latin America. It may be geographically the same territory, but it'll be a different nation.

Nobody but open-borders shills and whores, and cheap-labor interests, has any interest in this either. The aforementioned groups like these things as strawmen with which to perform a political necklacing of their opponents.

I've seen and heard plenty of calls for just that by anti-immigrant extremists here and elsewhere.

I guess Chavez’ ancestry is impacting her judgment.

Its more likely BLUE states will turn RED if the Repubs have the testacles to take a stand on illegal invaders. Most Americans - Republican, Democrat, and Independent, have HAD it with illegal invaders, and with this bi-lingualism being forced on us by Hispanic radicals.

Repubs have never gotten a large number of Hispanic votes, mainly as Hispanic Americans are predominantly urban based and like most urban based groups, vote Democrat - whether they are alive or dead.

And MOST Hispanics who are illegals can;t vote anyway - but then has never stopped the Democrat political machines in urban areas. Thank God for the Electoral College.

Nonsense. We didn’t replace America with Germany or Ireland during previous periods of mass immigration from those two countries.

"I believe the exact opposite of what she has written."

Me too. I think that Ms. Chavez may believe that if she repeats this often enough it will become true. I pray that she is mistaken.

Or this post just more wasted time...

I'm afraid to say that it is likely so...

I've been ranting on this subject for more than 4 years now....maybe six.....I can recall.

We were wining elections by 2-3%. By the actions of the party base Neo's, Paleo's and Socon's, the party has lost as much as 10-15% as we speak and it will be worse than that by election day. All of the moderates are leaving, the State party apparatus has been decimated in a dozen States that I know of, and it's probably much worse.

As they say, "It's going to be a hoot in '08. I sent the same comments to Rush last week, last year, it matters not.

I'm retiring completely next year and my political days are done. It's been a lot of fun for more than thirty years but I've never witnessed so much hubris and political naivete. Reagan would be dismayed.

Hope to be debt free by the end of next year, and I'm going to by a nice camper and hit the road.

Hope you have a great day!

Repubs have never gotten a large number of Hispanic votes,

That better change soon or the Republican party and the conservative movement are finished. Winning the Hispanic vote will be the key to victory for both our movement and our party due to the ever increasing number of Hispanic-Americans and the diminishing numbers of old America.

I lost all respect for her when she equated those who oppose illegals with racists.

I don't recall Germans refusing to learn English or the Irish using the Gaelic equivalent of reconquista. I don't think either had a big political lobbying group called "The Race" representing them.

If that is the conclusion you came to, then your reading skills are sorely lacking.

A good rule of thumb is this: Any racial or ethnic group that has to be pandered to if you want their votes, isn’t winnable by the Republicans. By pandering I mean the group demands race preferences, special language accommodations, welfare handouts, and importation of more people from their group so as to maximize their share of the plundered largesse.

It's similar to the situation with African-Americans. They have been regarded as disposable by the Democrats. Black incomes are growing and the glass ceiling is being broken by blacks in executive positions that would have been inconceivable 40 years ago. The values connection between these blacks and Republicans is often seamless. However, even successful blacks continue to vote Dem in spite of the effect upon their own taxes, affronts to their personal morality, etc. Furthermore, Hispanics are not homogeneous. Florida's Cuban-Americans have a different picture of themselves in the political realm than do Mexicans in California and descendants of Spanish colonists in New Mexico.

The greatest problems I see are that Hispanics are aggressive in changing the culture in their own image. The Hispanization of the Catholic Church is an example of this. Forcing others to speak Spanish instead of learning or instilling English within their community is another reflection of their ability to "acculturate" us rather than "assimilate" them. It will be interesting to see if they demand better treatment from the Dems than they gave the African-Americans. If they proceed to change the Dem party like they are trying to change the rest of society, it may turn away non-Hispanics, particularly those who compete with Hispanics for jobs.

Linda doesn’t realize how she insults the people she represents by singing this Administration’s pandering tune. Even if Hispanic voters are as fickle as Linda suggest, it’s doubtful that they will turn out in the numbers to turn red states blue. Linda should do all of the math. The Republican Party is in far more danger of alienating its base by pandering to illegals than it is of losing its small share of Hispanic voters by pushing sovereign borders. It’s time for illegals to go home, and exercise their political influence upon the worthless governments that are rightfully theirs. Make threats where they might actually do some good or where making them can prove your macho.

The GOP should remind latinos and blacks that the illegals will be taking a big chunk of their welfare and entitlements...the pie is already being cut up into 3 chunks.

>>Illegals don’t vote<<

At least, they are not supposed to. But if they don’t vote, why the fierce opposition to voter ID?

Yeah, fine.

But pandering to illegal invaders isn;t the way to do it. Its a non-issue for most citizens of Hispanic background and I don;t want to live in a Latin-American country.
