20 years ago this would have been an activity day during spirit week. Now it’s “gender bending” and gay-related.

I was thinking the same thing. We have similar events when I was in school. No one thought anything of it.

We had them too. It was all in fun.
I think the reaction here is to be expected, since homosexuality IS thrown in our faces so much anymore, stuff like this which used to be thought of as innocent fun is now thought of as part of a gay agenda, whether it actually is intended to be or not.

I've come to the conclusion that this is a "set up" article/thread.
Written and posted for the very "reaction" that it's already generating.
Elsewhere there may very well be a "look at this thread as a representative reaction" conversation already going on.
But then again, I could be wrong.

In Florida kids that get pulled out of school for home or other schooling cost the school district state funds and causes administrators to wail and gnash their teeth a lot.
GOOD!
Maybe one of these days, home schoolers will DEMAND VOUCHERS!
Why should they pay for this garbarge?

Thought this would interest you.
As soon as I saw it, I thought of you ... .
Perhaps you need to move to this school district.
You constantly defend “gay” people. You don’t mind that your kids are around “gay” people. Instead of just seeing a “gay” couple, a man pretending to be a woman and a woman pretending to be a male ... parts don’t fit for sex ... have your kids experience cross dressing!
Imagine how much closer that will bring your children to your fascination with “gay” people. Come on ... let’s not be a hypocrite ... you see nothing wrong with it and want the “best” for your children ... right? So let them experience the gender bending that they see in your friends through - cross dressing. If you’re lucky maybe they’ll act on it sexually when they are older?
Gabz:
I guess Im not rational in your mind. My gay friends asre neither molestrs of children or perverted, they are just different.
Then by all means support the perverted and risk your kids being molested by them. Be blind. Ignore that a disproportionate number of child molestations as compared to heterosexual molestations are happily committed by gay people. Be an advocate for the ungodly different people that are emotionally all screwed up - lovely example for the kiddies ... .

As if you’d know if your “gay” friends are molesting kids or not - LOL! They’re laughing at YOU and you don’t even know it.

The perverts, deviants, queers, and pedophiles are clearly gaining full access to kids for a purpose? Just more sexual harrassment of kids until they are essentially forced to embrace this sickening degeneracy by those that belong in cages.
Fun-filled week is planned
THE DANCE: The "Viva Las Vegas" theme event will be from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the school gym. Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased in advance during homecoming week at the school.
THE GAME: 7:20 p.m. Oct. 5 at Williams Stadium against Roosevelt.
THEME DAYS:
Monday, dress in Las Vegas-style apparel or as a famous person for Vegas Day;
Tuesday, dress in clothing of the opposite sex for Gender Bender Day;
Wednesday, dress as a person or occupation on "...er" Day;
Thursday, dress as someone from the movies on Movie Theme Day;
Friday, dress in red, black and white on Spirit Day.
OTHER EVENTS: Wednesday, 3:10 p.m., powder puff football game at Williams Stadium, no admission charge; sidewalk painting at the school during the powder puff game. Oct. 4, community-wide pep rally on the steps of the school's old entrance at 6:30 p.m., followed immediately by student tee-peeing of the school. Oct. 5, 12:56 p.m., all-school assembly in the gym will include the crowning of the homecoming king and queen.
Much ado about nothing, IMO!
While we're all aware of the encroachment of the homosexual agenda within the public school system such a reaction to something as trivial as this homecoming event denigrates the real work of setting the ship aright and makes Christian parents look foolish as well.
Just my opinion.

Updated with all homecoming events listed.

State officials in Des Moines confirmed to WND that at least 80 children whose parents were alarmed by the "Gender-Bender Day" during homecoming week at the city's East High School have moved their children from the various districts in the area into homeschooling plans. Several parents told WND that the number could be in the hundreds.Good. The more, the better.

Much ado about nothing, IMO!Then you would obviously allow your kids to keep attending the public schools. These parents believe otherwise and have acted on it. Frankly, I'd have done the same as they. (And I certainly wouldn't be voting for any tax increases for school funding.)

“And a school board in Des Moines == The world?”
Why doesn’t it? Do you think anybody has dealt with the Whole world at one time?
It represents this world as well as the U.N. does. Acts like it, too.

Actually this type of juvenile stuff has been going on in school a long time. They had this cross-dress day waaaaaaaaay back when I was in high school in the late 1970’s, though only a small amount of the kids participated. They also had backwards day, 1960’s day, 1950’s day, among others.
