-did y’all see this? I did.
Good grief, if Fred and his sycophants can't handle some criticism from the MSM, what will he do when the full blitzkrieg of the Clinton War Machine launches massive negative campaign against Fred if he does win the primaries?
So its either Fred or McCain.
I never thought I would ever consider McCain again. But for me its down to Fred, Hunter or McCain.
Fred has ZERO chance. Please, wake up!
Me too, ps. I was pretty excited when he first hinted at getting in,....even sent him some money. With the sole exception of the Michael Moore video, he's been a BIG disappointment. I'll stick with Red October re-runs.
Conventional wisdom is, I think, you need to win at least one of those if you are to advance.
However, CW may be off this year (for any number of reasons, especially Super Duper Tuesday), but you can't reasonably expect that journalists who try to be honest will ignore the polls and the results of previous elections.
Over the long haul, it might be good for Fred to have expectations lowered. It would them easier to surpass, would it not?
Today:
Republican presidential hopeful former Tenn. Sen. Fred Thompson speaks to local residents during a stop at a local bar and grill, Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, in Le Mars, Iowa. Thompson compared his Democratic rivals to race car drivers who only know how to turn left: 'It's like they're all in training for the NASCAR, you know, nothing but a left turn, just steady as she goes, all the way around,' he said in Iowa Tuesday. Okay, thanks. I did hear about the comment didn’t realize it was Cameron. Thought they were pulling for RudeE.
That said, I attended the RPOF/FOX News rally and debate in Orlando. Everyone--and I mean everyone--who attended was aghast by Fred Thompson's brief and weightless address that Saturday evening. The FOX News crew was there too. We saw him live, up close, and it wasn't an experience that left anyone thrilled with him as a presidential candidate. Even his clothes were ill fitted. His address was lifeless--all 4 minutes of it.
During his reception following the debate, FDT briefly addressed the crowd, shook a few hands, then left his wife working the crowd for another 20 minutes.
Thompson's opportunity to heat up the crowd of Florida Republican activists was wasted, and first impressions are tough to change. Very disappointed.
Flame suit zipped and ready for fire...
Fred campaign needs a kick in the pants.
Imagine that, bitching about MSM coverage
Doubt that!
...and senator youre no.....
If you mean Fred's no Reagan, I will point out to you that he never claimed he was, and he rejects the comparison.
Fred has been dead. It is humorous to see the reaction. I watched that segment, and didn’t think they were dumping on Fred. Truth is truth, and Fred is dropping everywhere. They are still buzzing about Huck. That will be over before long also.
Problem is, it is either uninformed opinion, or opinion driven by being in somebody else’s camp.
It is worse than useless, because it lacks objectivity, much like most of your statements lately about Fred.
Campaign driven drivel!
I have to agree with you, compared to the others, he does look old and tired. Fred just doesn’t seem to have the vitality and energy that the others have. Sorry guys, in this business, perception matters. Please, let’s not forget what happened to Dole.
I don’t want to see HIllary get in the White House anymore than the rest of you guys, but I can’t see Fred being the one to have it in him to go after her.
And as for Fox rooting for Giuliani, I guess some of you feel that way because you’d rather not see anyone mention Rudy. Kind of hard to overlook the guy when so far, he’s the one ahead in quite a few polls. Take heart, they’re also pointing out Huckabee’s rise in some of the polls.
Bingo!
It looks like you are not alone. Todays Rasmussen poll for Florida has him sinking to 3rd place, after being virtually tied for first just a few months ago.
Nicely stated. I totally agree.
I like Fred, the person, the best of all of them. Not necessarily wanting him to be President, but I do like the guy.
I want "honest and truthful"!
While I don’t think that Fred’s campaign is dead. He hasn’t done much since announcing. His name is hardly mentioned in the media except in-passing.
At least Mitt seems to try to stir it up w/Hillary. Rudi has front runner status so he doesn’t have to do much to be mentioned. I think Fred needs to do something to stand out. Come to think of it, aside from Mitt and Rudi, none of the candidate have done much lately (except Huckabee w/Chuck Norris - and who wants him and his open border attitude ?).
LOL.
