There’s too far to go for much of anything to have been decided yet.

Today at breakfast, the milk carton I used to pour milk on my cereal had Fred’s picture on it. His campaign may not be dead, but he’s missing in action in Iowa and New Hampshire.
They used the NH poll as their main justification.... 4 percent. Nice job.
About this time in 2003, John Kerry was being written off. Many—like myself—laughed at the loan he took against his house to keep his campaign afloat.
Not only did he get the nomination, he damn near won the White House.

Mitt is running 1st is Iowa, NH, and coming on strong in SC. He also, according to Rasmussen is now in 2nd place in Florida.
Rudy has the Super Tuesday states with the huge delegate counts.
Where is Fred ahead that could add to an early surge needed for a nomination.
The only two I can see an argument for is Mitt and Rudy, but granted a lot could change before that time.
I was prepared to support Thompson but he has said precious little so far and his communications setup seems to be an afterthought.
HOWEVER - if he would start breathing some fire the press, bored to tears with the Dems and Hillary in particular, would give him many huge free megaphones every night.
The conservatives are waiting for something - anything - that doesn’t sound like another 4 years of Potomac Fever.
Yikes. I just realized that many around here refer to Fred Thompson as just “Fred”. Of course I meant Fred Barnes when I stated how he and Mort Kondracke refer to those of us who against illegal immigration.

Well even Brit, Fred, and Charles can be wrong once in awhile, can’t they? Maybe they’re being practical, but there are other candidates that are not doing too well and you don’t see these fellow downing on them, do you?

Sorry, this is a little off topic but I still haven’t figured out how to fill out all the spaces to post my own question. Harry Reid was supposed to keep the Senate in session this Thanksgiving recess so that Bush could not make any recess appointments. Does anyone know if the senate convenied today and how many people showed up? Again, sorry for postint my question here... :-)
