I care that stupid polls are influencing voters to do stupid things. Fair enough?
This "electability factor" is going to kill this nation.
And why should I care what only 398 people might think?

I think Fred is going to make the move in Iowa, and it will be fueled by the grassroots organizational power of the NRLC endorsement and the fact that, of the major candidates, Fred is head and shoulders above them on securing the borders.
At this point, Huckabee, the darling of the MSM (who got fawning questions from Chris Wallace on Chuck Norris), has already begun to recede. The puff pieces and lickspittle interviews from Rudybot pundits make conservative primary voters not only suspicious but sick at their stomachs. He hit his high water mark last week in my opinion.

Be it Thompson or Huckabee we need one of them to shuttle some of the momentum that Romney has in Iowa so that he doesn’t come out as the huge winner and parlay that on to the next state. I don’t for a minute think the man from Hope has a chance of being the nominee but he could maybe play a spoiler.... I’d be happy is Thompson did make the move in Iowa but I don’t see it happening just yet.
I am looking forward to the hissy fit that the Iowans will be pitching now that Willard ruined “their” debate.
Electability is one factor, whether you like it or not. That is one of the reasons I like Thompson, but not even close to the most important reason. It should not be the only reason, as it is in the case of Rudy. The MSM always tries to push the more “electable” (i.e.-liberal) candidate on the GOP, whether it is Ford, Bush41, Dole or Rudy. When the time comes, the “electable” candidate ends up being a loser, like Ford, Bush in 1992 and Dole in 1996.
That said, they deny that Fred is the most electable, but I believe he is, based not principally on polls, but on his character and what he stands for.

I’d like to be encouraged by this, but I’m not. I don’t trust Gallup and I think there are still too many who are undecided or just aren’t paying attention yet. G#$damn whoever keeps moving these primaries up. It’s wrecking the process.

He doesn’t want to come to a debate and have to explain his socialized heath care, $50 abortions, tolerance of sanctuary cities and same sex marriage, the great legacy he left Massachusetts. If I remember Aesop correctly, the tortoise did beat the hare. Of course that was just a fable, but come to think of it today’s fables are all written by the MSM.
As I have said before, Huckabee is Rudy’s DH to try to split the conservative vote and let him sneak through. The problem is that except on Right to Life, Huckabee is a liberal on taxes, borders, big government nanny statism and political correctness. he is also super soft on crime, pardoning criminals right and left in Arkansas. He also had a lot of ethical lapses in Arkansas, stripping the governor’s mansion of furniture and other valuables before he left.
Huck is not going to be able to do it, because he is not a conservative, even less conservative than McCain.

Even though my guy is doing better/well, I don't really like news about polls. They seem to be self-fulfilling prophesies, creating a bandwagon effect, and even on FR, people use polls as their basis for choosing or supporting a candidate. It's an unfortunate reality, but if I don't say it when they show FDT doing well, I can't say it when polls show him doing not-as-well. And some will.
And while Huckabee's star is ascending in Harkin's great state of Ioway, I recommend he start thinking about a VP. Lindsey Graham is ready and willing and very available. I say go for it, the Republicans may never have the chance again to put Gomer and Goober on the same ticket. The only sad part is Sargeant Carter is dead, what a Secretary of Defense he would have made!
