Yep. Roger Ailes, CEO and Chairman, was Rudy's media guy in his first political campaign (1989). He was described as "the master image manipulator." Apparently things haven't changed much.
In Fox News, Giuliani Finds a Friendly StageAs mayor, Rudy also presided over Roger Ailes marriage. Nice cozy relationship.
How classy! You sign up a week ago and imply freepers aren't sane?
btw, you spelled Penitentiary wrong.
WHAT”S THE NAME???
I liked her TV show.
I did not question the sanity of all Freepers or even most. I questioned the propriety of those who want to ignore Reagan’s 11th commandment while citing him on everything else. Sorry, I guess I should have said a voice of reason but I’m sure you’d have nit picked that too. It was not a cut down of anyone, but a compliment one who understands that one of the GOP candidates will soon be our nominee and it would be best if we sent him into the ring without already having been rope-a-doped in his own corner.
And yes I know I made a TYPO. As I answered you before when you so cleverly pointed this out, I asked the webmaster to change the spelling and he has not answered me. I know how to spell penitentiary. It was a typo made late at night which I did not catch until I posted a few minutes later.
Unfortunately, he is. He's no conservative, which illustrates how far off-track the GOP has become.
That is not what you said. Look at your words again.
And, "Reagan's 11th commandment" was not Reagan's at all, but that California state GOP chairman Dr. Gaylord B. Parkinson who issued the edict in 1965 to deal with grievances between candidates, requiring that they be aired privately or the candidates would be subject to discipline by the GOP. It was issued after Republican George Christopher attacked Republican Ronald Reagan, accusing him of being a member of three communist front groups. It was not intended to eliminate all vetting of candidates, all discussions of issues, or mention of the candidate's past record, particularly that which is clearly in the public record.
Sorry, I guess I should have said a voice of reason but Im sure youd have nit picked that too.
Ah... so pointing out that your comment was insulting is nit picking? Whatever.
And yes I know I made a TYPO. As I answered you before when you so cleverly pointed this out, I asked the webmaster to change the spelling and he has not answered me.
I have never posted to you before.
“That is not what you said. Look at your words again.”
So you know better than I do what I meant? Did I reference anyone as being insane?
And regardless of the origin of the 11th commandment, it is still a good maxim and I never stated that it precluded SUBSTANTIVE analysis and cross comparisons between candidates. But I do believe it precludes innuendo and guilt by association which is all this Kerik and Regan stuff is about. Did you notice within her lawsuit no detail or substantiation is offered for her claims? But many are jumping on it like Giuliani has just been convicted and sentenced. That is the kind of stuff I was referring to as being a violation of the 11th commandment, as well as lending it credibility should Giuliani be the candidate and the Dems. decide to use this stuff.
Finally, if you chose to be insulted by a remark complimenting one’s sensible views, then I don’t know what to tell you.
And sorry about mistaking you for someone else who posted to me about the spelling of penitentiary. I thought I remembered that as being you.
Only those that don't agree with you about Rudy (by inference).
is the kind of stuff I was referring to as being a violation of the 11th commandment
One more time--the 11th commandment applied to candidates, NOT voters!
“Only those that don’t agree with you about Rudy (by inference).”
What I said didn’t apply to just Rudy. It applies to any of our candidates being smeared with innuendo, as opposed to a reasonable debate over policy views, and what that means to have a damaged candidate going into the general election. I apply that to ANY of our candidates. I think it is simply sensible that we confine our debates to the issues rather than innuendo and slander. And that includes those who tried to hang the Thompson advisor with the priors for pot possession around Fred’s neck. Regardless of to whom the 11th commandment was originally applied, whether candidates or the grass roots, it makes a lot sense especially in a political environment like this where whoever our candidate is, he’s going to have a steep uphill climb. Why wear him down to a nub now?
Thanks for posting-—your intellect and wisdom is always very much appreciated.
BTW, some sources are saying Regan has ‘EXTENSIVE AND DAMNING’ audio tapes. Something to look forward to.
As to Regan, the gory details are really damning, IMO. Unfortunately, you really have to get down to the (many) individual actions and the detail to see how slimy it is, something that isn't coming out in any of these news reports. After reading #67 on page 24, I went and read the article that she refers to. It comes off as an obvious smear job, and completely irresponsible journalism (at best). The way the complaint is written, I think she has extensive support for the allegations. If she can prove only half of them, Murdoch et al still look like thugs and liars.
Your research is impeccable-—and very much valued by FReeper conservatives.
Aw... shucks! Thanks! :-)
You do fine work, yourself!
A vote for Rudy in the primary is a vote for Hillary in the general. Rudy can’t win the general. There just aren’t enough “character doesn’t matter Republicans” to pull it off.
Hopefully, this story will grow and knock Rudy out of the box before the primaries get rolling good.
I believe Murdoch will be happy with either liberal he supports, Rooty or Hillary.
Its a win-win for him.
Great calcowgirl. You are spot on with your analysis. I am tired of the Rootybots using the 11th commandment to quell the truth about Rooty.
The time has come to get the truth out before the primaries. I don’t know about anyone else, but, I won’t spend one minute of my time defending the dirt that is documented about Rooty.
And yes, to all you Rooty toots, Hillary stinks, but I would not spend any time defending her either.
Bump!
Empty the trash... all of it. ;-)
Its a win-win for him.
For him and Soros.
Rooty is obsessed with religiously cleansing the Repub party and throwing conservatives to the curb.
We should sit back and say "Nice job?"
This sucker deserves everything we can throw at him.
All's fair in love and war and politics.
