Made us all laugh at a very sad time. Those are the moments that will always make us smile every time we remember them from now on. Am so sorry for the loss of your husband, Coldwater Creek.
I hope you don't mind, but your screen name reminds me of a 'thread' I posted some time ago that also brings a smile. :)

This photo is of "The Grapes of Wrath", an annual entry in the Fourth of July community parade. I don't remember how many years it's been in the parade, but it's always a treat to see it driving up the parade route. The family has Oklahoma roots.

How pretty. Can’t thank you enough, saw where there is one state left that interests me, would like to help YOU profile it one day. Will be in touch.
To: JustAmy
There is some beautiful country there, can remember visiting a farm one time. Always a good place to go back to in my memory.
Thanks for the hug. :)

This poem your aunt wrote is remarkable, she was a very gifted writer!
Here are the lyrics to the song Oklahoma that I left off the post, thought it was making it too long.
Oklahoma,
where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma,
Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky.
We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
And when we say
Yeeow! Ayipioeeay!
We're only sayin'
You're doin' fine,
Oklahoma!
Oklahoma O.K.

Now see, Amy, your aunt’s poems are ‘my kind of poems’. I just love all of those that you posted on the Poetry & Potpourri threads and a few you’ve posted here before.

Saw the movie one time but don’t remember it that well. Did seem like it was hard to follow. That’s interesting that the story ended right down the road from you.

Your flowers are nice but the cowboys are prettier

Hi, Miss Kitty! I love seeing the state birds (and the state flowers & wildflowers) of all these states. Some of them share some of the same ones.
I enjoyed 'helping' with the state of Oklahoma - as one of Texas' neighboring states, I've actually been there. :)

Knew I'd left a lot out but thanks for the reminder on Bob Wills. He was from Texas but spent part of his career in Oklahoma and recorded 'Faded Love' which later became the state song.
Faded Love
Note: this is not a Bob Wills recording.

Love seeing rooms like Will Rogers ranch house living room. When I was looking for pictures of any and all things Will Rogers, there were so MANY places everywhere that were named after him! We listed just a few of those in Okla itself.

Awesome Oklahoma flag. Is that their motto?
Billie, that could be our motto. lol
