Well, I couldn’t resist the quick swipe. I personally don’t like any of the parties involved.

I don't either, but it seems plausible to me that if Regan was very close to Kerik that he might have confided "things" to her. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this lawsuit - or if News Corp. pays her off to drop it.

vicious lying slut who sleeps around with married men ... a whore, a liar, and a shameless opportunist

I'm curious. How do you describe Bernard Kerik, who was sleeping around on his wife with Judith and another woman, ripping off the taxpayers, and stealing from charities?

And how do you describe Rudy Giuliani, whose harshest words about Kerik are something like "maybe I should have vetted him better but he did a great job, he's a friend, and a hero"?

Kerik had some fantasy that Regan was doing him because he was a big stud. Alas, we now know it was a job security move on Ms. Regan’s part.

It’s good v evil. Sides have been chosen. Personally, I would take FoxNews over the NYT.

"Yeah sure, Rudy. But won't your wife and/or your mistress mind?

We know.

Can we convince our neighbors that what we know is the truth?

Judith Regan was successful in a duplicitous business because she was duplicitous as well. OJ, Regan, Kerik, the NYT and Fox News can posture all they want, but none are capable of taking a righteous postion.

A man like Giuliani who cheats on his wife will betray anything of value claimed -- including his country.

Even hs own archbishop is against his receiving Holy Communion. The trouble with Catholocism is that has lost a lot of credibility by its avoidance of excomunicstion as a means of bringing to repentance and redeeming its wayward sons...

Does anybody know?

My understanding is that a vacancy in a candidacy for President or VP after the convention depends on the party rules. Most likely the GOP National Committee would make the decision, but if there was enough time the National Convention delegates could be recalled by the national committee. This would also, IMHO, be what would happen with a vacancy occurring between the election and the vote of the electors. After the electors vote, if the winning candidate dies or becomes unwilling, the election would go to the House of Representatives, with each state's delegation getting one vote, and they might be guided by the winner's party's desires.

If it were left to the RNC to choose a replacement candidate, they would no doubt choose Specter if Chafee were to remain unavailable due to his refusal to re-register as a Republican. /s
