Two funniest Cheechoko questions:
(at Juneau dock as the ship unloads)
Q -How high above sea level are we here?
A - Well since you are standing on the dock, I’d say about 6 foot, give or take the tide level....
(As they exit the airplane on the arctic plain)
Q: WHere are the TREES???? (in a whiny, wail, as they choke on the skeeters I would add)
A: Other side of the Brooks Range, you Dumb***.
Don’t what’s worse, the Greenies or the dumb blue-hair tourists....
Please explain the assumptions behind this statement, as I've done more to deal with enviro-racketeering in the last decade than you probably have in a lifetime. It sounds as if you think I oppose drilling ANWR. I don't. I'm merely requesting the info as ammunition.
Further, I don't know which DEW sites are in ANWR versus the many that are not. I understood perfectly what you meant by "military bases" and how to Google the information. I was hoping you had something more tangible in the interest of saving time I don't have. I was hoping you knew of a page that has collected documentation of your characterization of ANWR. Considering the amount of money at stake, it should have been common knowledge ages ago.
Time to switch to the de-caf my FRiend! Jus try’n to help.
The Boing-boing site has a number of good photos.
If you are as serious as you claim - file a FOIA request for photos (you may have to pay) to:
3 CS/SCSR
ATTN: FOIA Request
Elmendorf FAB, AK 99506
Indicate you are interested in remidiation efforts of military sites on/near to the NPS ANWR refuge.
More:
The 3rd Communications Squadron/SCSR is responsible for processing requests for Elmendorf Air Force Base records under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. Written requests may be received by postal service, facsimile or electronically at elmendorf.foia@elmendorf.af.mil. Requests received by facsimile or electronically must have a mailing address included since it may not be practical to provide a substantive response electronically.
Enjoy.
I've been researching and writing on enviro-racketeering in general for over a decade, of which ANWR is a small part. As to how serious I am about that, you can be the judge (it has cost me nearly a million in lost income).
I don't have the time for a FOIA on what (to me) would be a relative side issue; I was just hoping there was already something handy. One would think oil companies truly interested in developing ANWR would have used their ample resources to chronicle the fact that it is no "pristine area." Thanks.
