While visiting MA from VA I was asked who “the first” was. My plate reads “THE 2ND”. I pointed out that it was an NRA plate and got a blank look. I said “the second amendment” and still got a blank look.

Hah! The soup nazi!
My favorite from MO was “OURAQT” and I immediately thought of URAQT2 and OICURAQT etc. Some of these are really clever.

LOL
Then there was the time Kramer got the Doctor’s vanity plates by mistake.
I don’t have vanity plates on my car but I have to admit some can be very clever.

I am wondering if any folks here have a plate that reads FREEPER? Someone has something about FreeRepublic on their motorcycle tags. Maybe Martin Fierro?

When I commuted 48 miles one-way I used to see some interesting ones in NY and NJ. I wanted to keep a log, but that was hard to do while I was actually driving.
What made me want to start was when I spotted the same plate at approximately the same place one evening coming home and the following morning rush hour. I remember making the same joke twice. I won't mention my comment, but it was a 1988 Grand Prix with a license plate that "88 Prix"...
