They need to put her on the recruiting posters and prepare to begin turning excess applicants away.

She’s beautiful, and a good role model.
Sometimes I’m proud to live in Utah.

I'm in love! She's really doing outstanding work as a soldier!

I love giving back,... I am fond of what she's doing and proud of her military experience, but this phrase "giving back" strikes me as rather awkward. As a taxpayer, I'm wondering when they are going to "give back" to me.

As a taxpayer, I'm wondering when they are going to "give back" to me. You're living reasonably free, in a country where you don't have to worry about being shot for posting to sites like FR, nor wonder how much content you see on the Internet is censored. You get to do this, and much more, because of people like her, giving back to their country. She might not be on the front lines, but she's obviously a good spokeswoman, and sometimes that's just as important.
Try to see the big picture.

She might not be on the front lines, but she's obviously a good spokeswoman, and sometimes that's just as important. As I said, I really, truly appreciate what she's doing. From the standpoint of her being generous with her time and effort. I really do, as I do all people that go beyond the norm and give without asking for anything in return.
But every time I look at my personal balance sheet, I find that I'm paying for far more than I'm getting back from the government. As opposed to some liberal deadbeat that's got a positive financial income from dot-gov for decades. I refuse to give back that which I've not been given.
What I'm saying is that it's the use of the "give back" phrase that I find upsetting. Nothing she's doing is wrong, and in fact is quite right. I just balk at the idea that myself or anyone else has to "give back" something which they were not given.
