They want all the credit that the good citizenry is doing. Again...here's the message from San Diego: THIS IS HOW CIVILIZED PEOPLE FACE ADVERSITY.
Good one. I’ve seen your webpage too, you have a lot of good ones there too. Nice to see a smart young conservative.
He had Juan Williams on a few weeks ago, just about the time Bill’s stupid comment about blacks acting respectably in a restaurant had died down. The spot was supposed to be about Juan’s new book and an attack some black critic had made on Juan as being the FOX houseboy...and Juan was still pissed that his own NPR would not show his interview with Bush about race relations in the US. I’m no fan of Juan Williams but I thought it would be interesting to see Juan get jiggy about his treatment by his own base.
Hand in hand with all of this was at the time was the Petraus/MoveOn controversy and the hammering of Rush Limbaugh about “phony soldiers.”
And yet, after giving Juan 3 seconds of lip service and slight nods to the problems of Petraus and Rush, BOR went into this long tirade about how MoveOn is trying to smear him, blah, blah, blah, dismissing anything Williams had to say. By this time, the “Bill in Harlem” story was page 37 material. Before he could equate himself with the crucifixion of Christ (“Sure, Juan, Jesus had it bad, but look at what they’re doing to me!”), the segment ended and Dennis Miller came on. Miller got to say two more words than Juan and Bill went nutso again about how he was being smeared.
Why have guests on the program when all you’re going to do is talk about yourself?
Yup, I saw that, and that’s how it happened. It was embarrassing to watch O’reilly keep demanding that Juan call him a “good whitey”.
I don’t know why O has Miller on, anyway. I don’t think he can understand a quarter of what Miller says. He’d better stick to that 50’s trivia and that body-language nonsense.
(I almost enjoy that body-language segment just because that woman pulls her carney act on O every damn time, and he just doesn’t wise up. Thay show somebody shouting and shaking their fist, and she says, “He’s upset.” O replies, “Hmmm.”)
