Who done who?
The male sailor killed two female sailors and then turned the gun on himself. Last I saw, he’s in critical condition.
However, considering this was apparently a love triangle among three sailors in the USN, I think it adds fuel to the argument that women should not be deployed among men overseas or aboard ships.
I've heard too many first-hand accounts from friends in the service who talk about the inherent problems of having young-hormone-charged kids in such close confinement on a daily basis and in a dangerous environment in which people under threat might be drawn closer to one another. I read a small ignored piece in the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings a couple of years ago that suggested that un-wed pregnancy rates in the Navy (and perhaps the Army too) were out of control in the service, but that the Navy had to sweep them under the rug to keep the FemiNazis in Congress happy. Any truth in this, Navy guys and/or gals?
“... it adds fuel to the argument that women should not be deployed among men overseas or aboard ships.”
That it might. However, being that the genie is out of the bottle, it’ll never happen
If the female sailors are blond this story is sure to lead on the Greta and Nancy’s shows
Yes, by all means lets get those pesky women out of the military. After all, military men NEVER get violent over civilian women./s
I sure agree with you on what you said. I had a grandson on a carrier that was involved with a female sailor. Nothing bad about it but it should not have happened.
add homos (open or closeted) to that...
When my bro was over in Saudia Arabia in 1991 he noticed that women who couldn’t score the time of day back here were suddenly quite popular over seas.
So then what? Don't assign them to ships and don't allow them to be stationed overseas, why not just ban them entirely?
This seems to be an isolated incident. Male sailors aren't going around shooting female sailors daily. That hardly justifies banning women from overseas postings or from the service altogether.
Of immediate concern is to save this shooters life, get him well enough to stand trial and sentence him to death.
We need killers in the military, not murderers.
Another strike against "don't ask, don't tell". It breaks down morale. It breaks down discipline.
Sgt. Akbar did more damage as a fifth column Islamonazi and his trial took years to complete and his lawyer claimed “harassment”.
A variation of the 'women all look better at closing time' theory. Besides, if you slept with one you didn't run the risk of having an outraged brother showing up one day and cutting your head off like you did with a local.
Yeah but since there was no booze allowed some of these guys couldn’t offer up much in the way of an excuse....
Love triangle? They have AOL chat rooms over there?

I believe the term is “Desert Queen.”
I suspect they would be. LOL
Yeh, but the case in Texas was planned so the homosexuals could get arrested and go through the court system to get what they want.
