I see I have an answer....
“Whats happening in Malibu is far worse. Very sad for everyone living there. In our case, well take the smoke but would just as soon pass on the flames”
Thank you for your post. Another FReeper (jerk) seemed happy to see Malibu burn because a some liberal movie stars live there. Half the people there are conservatives. I lived there for many years.
I just heard it jumped from 2-3k acres to 15k acres in a matter of MINUTES in the Canyon??? Eeegads..
The Air National Guard will drop water “bombs” on the fires out of Point Mugu, CA, but as I understand, there is some red tape first. Some years ago this same question was brought up during a similar fire season and they need to be requested by somebody. Maybe Governor Arnold. I don’t remember.
I think there was an injury in the Canyon Country fire....
Is that connected to the Aqua Dulce fire ...?
I think worst fires season was that one burn in mountain that cause all sky turn red or pink remember I could’t breathing I couldn’t stay outdoor for only 5 minutes at the time it so dark, cloudy from smoke rain down my neighborhood all the ashes
you never called me back.
how many fires ARE THERE?
I heard 9 so far.
Yes, 10,000 acres is the Agua Dulce now Canyon Country fire alone. Not sure how large the Malibu fire is.
Yes, the Agua Dulce fire spread to Canyon Country where it got worse.
no wood roofs
Canyon Country fire looks HORRIBLE...
When I was a kid, there were no homes there nor near there... that was where they made “western movies.”
Merry, long time no see. There’s also a fire in Santa Barbara, and there was one reported earlier near Moorpark.
Prayers for all.
This looks very bad. /understatement
It looks like midnight there from the smoke. I don’t know how to get a screen shot.
I hope my friends got out of there.
WOW I just turned on the live feed from Ch 7 in LA...miles after mile- it’s unbelievable.
Correct.
I kind of veered off since I like Rudy right now. But, I drop in occasionally to read the news. I didn’t realize the fires were this bad. Here in PA it’s 70 which is very warm for late October!
I will hope for rain for California, but looking at the forecast, I don’t think so.
