Rancho Cucamonga believe it or not. Wind was blowing it down the mountain south into San Bernardino and then once it got down to the 1,000 foot level the smoke was turning more west southwest. Recent report on Channel 9 stated wind had stopped up on the mountain. Went to look up in the sky and the smoke trail looked to be weakening. The winds however are just now picking up again. I am going on a drive to try to see what is going on now. Been smelling smoke since this afternoon.

There is still space at Qualcomm. Del mar Fairgrounds is full. My boss is at Qualcomm, I have heard (haven't been able to raise her on her cell).
Only "essential" military and civilian personnel are to report to work to any of the military bases tomorrow. I am not essential.

Evacuations, Closings (7:25p)

Orange County - Lake Forest Evacuations
The city of
Lake Forest has just announced mandatory evacuations for the following streets in
Foothill Ranch:
La Solita, La Perla, Pandale and Calle Cabrillo.
El Toro High School, located at 25255 Toledo Way, has been activated as an
evacuation site.
For traffic control purposes,
Portola Parkway at Alton Parkway is open to local residents only. For the latest information, residents may contact the city's hotline at (714) 628-7085.
Stevenson Ranch - Evacuations:
Homeowners are being evacuated from the area
just north of Stevenson Ranch off Valencia Boulevard and The Old Road, says Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station.
He says it is unclear if the fire, which is burning right up to the back yards of various homes with smoke billowing over the area, is an offshoot of an existing blaze or an entirely new fire. There was no immediate word on the number of people being evacuated.
More closures

People tend to get crabby when The Santa Anas blow! It is a fact.Something to do with postive ions... besides there is the fact we are on fire! FFs, LEOs and families are stressed. Give us a break, OK! I don't believe I've said a dispraising word about you all.

Thanks, BD.... Foothill and Stevenson Ranches are both blazing now. This is all they’re showing on KCAL9.

It’s sounding like it’s even difficult for some to get out...still watching 10news.com.
This is pretty bad stuff.

Can you give me a more specific location? I am trying to map it.
To: SE Mom
Yes, my mom lives in Del Mar and had gone voluntarily, but now the city has asked everyone to evacuate. I also read that all of the nursing home patients (Alzheimer’s, etc...) who had been taken to the Fairgrounds are being evacuated, again, to somewhere else.

Yes, used in 03 as well. Chargers have relocated the rest of the week’s training to the Cardinals facility in Az; no word yet as to whether Sunday’s NFL game btw SD and Houston will be cancelled, or relocated. Arizona has a bye week this week.
