Do I dare admit it? I did occassionally get a bit “misty” “when reading
the abridged version on those plates at the Los Angeles area
National Cemetary.
“The men and women at JPAC are truly amazing. I hope that I can work
with them in the future (I have to finish working on my master’s degree
in history first).”

And while you’re finising off that history degree...be sure to delve
into the forsencis science of DNA.
Yes, I know it’s a bit challengeing and not “a trivial exercise”
(as my graduate school faculty would say when they assigned a near-
impossible problem!).
Keep the faith; you will at least be doing a VERY virtuous work.
Bob was in Air Force ROTC with me and lived in Shaw Hall, Michigan State, where I was for one semester. He nominated me for membership in Arnold Air Society, the ROTC honorary. Lost track because I couldn’t continue in ROTC and, eventually joined the Navy. A “SANDY” driver. Big guy, always had a smile. Learned to fly on his own during summer break.
Feb 8, 1968. May his family finally know some peace.
I will pay my respects when I’m next at the Wall. Because I now know the date, I’ll know right where to go.
