.cnI redruM did the author of this rant take his que from the Chinese Communist Party?

Sound familiar?

"Some local cadres can't tell right from wrong, and they are blind to hostile elements who use the cloak of religion to engage in counter-revolutionary activities," Mr. Chen declared.

"While purporting to be party members and cadres, they act as internal agents for the {religious] clique. They harm our nation's unity and betray the people."

-------------------

The GOP has party cadres now as well??? Party cadres rooting out counter revolutionary elements?

Am I the only one who read the Federalist papers and George Washington's speeches? Am I the only one who remembers reading Orwell's 'Animal Farm' and '1984'?

A conservative/constitutionalist's only loyalty is to the Constitution - everything else be damned.

Every one of the individuals listed above has taken at least one, if not several, stands that GOP loyalists are totally repulsed by. Virtually nothing has been done to castigate these people for their disrespect for core party beliefs. When the party fails to punish disloyalty, it rewards this type of behavior. The GOP will not reacquire a positive brand image until several of these above listed “mavericks” get put down and sent to the glue factory for processing.

orge Orwell and the Politics of Animal Farm

Boxer, the strongest and hardest-working animal, falls ill. Though the van in which the dying Boxer is taken away has the words "Horse Slaughterer" painted on the sides, Squealer assures the other animals that the veterinary surgeon had just recently bought it, and did not have time to paint the old name out. Boxer, devoting his unceasing labor to the pigs, outlives his usefulness, and is rewarded by being sent to the glue factory.

I must ask you .cnI redruM - was the glue factory allusion you used based on the politics of 'Animal Farm'?

No, it had more to do with a growing sense of frustration. The GOP stands for nothing this cycle, because it does nothing to enforce a unified vision. In other words, on one hand, we have our President up there saying “You’re with us, or your against us?” On the other, we have COngressman Ron Paul agreeing with the students for 9-11 Truth that we should investigate President Bush’s administration to determine if he personally planned 9-11.

On the one hand, we advertise ourselves as the party of law and order, on the other, we have Senators Graham and McCain trying to slam an amnesty bill for 13 million illegal aliens down the country’s throat.

As for Boxer, and all the wonderful work he did, if you can explain to me what wonderful production the GOP got out Lincoln Chafee or gets out of Ron Paul, I’ll grant you I’ve just advocated sending our best and brightest off to the glue factory.

No, the GOP has no coherent platform, because it allows people to hijack it’s brand, splurge through its resources and then totally insult all the people it sends to walk the precincts on their behalf. If the GOP really had cadres, do you think we would still have a Senator Specter?

Or another way to look at it, if Pat Toomey hadn’t come within a few thousand votes of firing Arlen Specter, do you really believe he would have cooperated with the president on Justice Roberts or Justice Alito. Senator Specter is directly opposed to each man’s position on abortion. SO just by prtesenting Arlen SPecter with the credible threat of losing his position with the party, we got him more closely aligned to what Conservatives would want, as opposed to his new-found buddies at Planned Parenthood.

George Washington would be totally Po’ed that we went and freed all his slaves. He’d also agree with Pat Buchanan that we never should have declared war on Germany in 1941. Furthermore, if we take his meaning on entangling alliances literally, he’d have eaten his hat over the US joining up with NATO during the Cold War.

GW would have been far too busy castigating Ronald Reagan, FDR, Harry S. Truman and Abraham Lincoln to care what I post of Freerepublic.com one way or the other.

All you need to see is what happened to old Joe Lieberman when he failed to toe the party line .....

All you need to see is who controls the House and The Senate, who can articulate a party platform without contradicting themselves 30 or 40 times, who gets campaign contributions and who doesn’t and who is considered by most an odds-on favorite to take The White House next term. The truth here is odious, but it really is pretty obvious.

When Newt “branded” the party in ‘94...they did well. DeLay made them hang together....

I quite agree. Gingrich did did exactly what I’ve suggested in many ways. I wouldn’t mind him as the head of the RNC.

James Dobson is a voter, not a politician.

George Washington freed his own slaves and I would guess from my readings of the man he would be pleased we did away with slavery.

If Party cadre .cnI redruM represent the GOP - attacking/denegrating George Washington and what he stood for then you can keep the GOP.

You need to recheck the seriousness of what was said. In no way did I dispute what Dobson actually said, but for a religious leader to say that a person who is, in fact, christian and that can be confirmed by about a 3 second search on the net, to say that he isn’t..... that’s a pretty serious thing to say, in public. It wasn’t just some passing comment made in private conversation i_d, Dobson is a political figure, and by saying something like that in public only a fool would say that Dobson didn’t know that it would have political effects.
