Why does he have to say anything at all about his marriage? I thought they were supposed to be all French about this kind of thing: C'est L'amore and all that horsecrap....

Sarko was born in France to a French born mother and a Hungarian born father.
He had one Jewish parent, his maternal grandfather.
People who are of the Jewish faith born in France are French, just as people of the Jewish faith in America are, well, Americans.
What difference does all this make?
