My myspace page is all about the cause of Asa’ problems and the same problems shared by all of America.
The irrational thought had a cause.
Asa was poisoned just like all of us are being poisoned.
My myspace page tells you how and why!
my myspace page explained all of this and so much more!
Asa was poisoned just like the rest of America!

Interesting post and thread. Thanks to all. Condolences to the victims families and friends.
Oddly enough I attended this school years ago when it was the Cleveland School of Science. It was a joke then (circa 1985) with fights every day and absolutely no focus on science, or learning for the most part.
What it did have was expensively equipped “lab” type classrooms that looked great for photo ops. I think the whole time I was there (6-8 grades) we only ever participated in a couple of hands on labs, and those were trivial things like growing bean sprouts, flipping pennies to demonstrate genetic variation and making play-doh (that’s right a real focus on science).
After this report came out, I spoke with my sister about what a joke the place was. The school had been hyped as a magnet school for science which required a science focused placement test for admission. In my first “diversity moment” I got to see up close how the education game was played. Let’s just say that the place had the perfect race and gender make-up, but that most of the students were not interested in science, nor did they take the exam.
I know it was better than most of the public schools (healthiest patient in the cancer ward). There were a good number of dedicated teachers that kept on trying. But, for the most part the place was a zoo. Thankfully, my parents stopped the experiment and I attended a local Jesuit high school.
Another interesting aside: my brother caught up with a classmate from the school when he was taking his SAT (early 90s). The former classmate was in line to be the school valedictorian. He indicated that he would be satisfied with the SAT if he could break 800. Kinda puts that 94% graduation rate in perspective.
After hearing about this shooting the first thing I asked myself was "where's the father?"
I’ll take your word for it that it wasn’t much of a school, but I still think the root cause was in the home.
