Fred swatted both Willard and Christopher. I can't wait for the next debate. They thought they were dealing with another Admiral James Stockdale, when in fact, they ran into a Southern Perry Mason!

Everything Beedle Barnes says is bought and paid for.

Inside the beltway, he passes himself off as a conservative. He has a show on the Fox News Channel called the Beltways Boys which sums him up pretty good, because he is all both all beltway and all boy.

Barnes was one of the first to see that no matter what msn pundits were saying , the people liked Senator Thompson .

This makes me nervous.

If I’ve learned anything over the years, its that whatever Fred Barnes says is a contra-indicator of reality.

I know what you mean . There seems to be the pendulum effect with Barnes . He thought shamnesty was not so bad , then sure it would pass , then it has got to pass this second time , to well it is a good thing I defeated it.

One of the Beltway Boys on Fox, his sidekick is Morton Kondracke. Also he's one of the editors of The Weekly Standard along with William Kristol.

What I find a bit surprising is that I was under the impression that Fred had already written Fred off...

Fred must have liked the way freddie stood with his hands in his pockets, rocking side to side and the way he so nonchalantly pinches the tickles away from his nozzles, LOL

First impressions are supposed to be 90 percent of politics. If that's the case, Fred Thompson should have a decent shot at the Republican presidential nomination.

Yikes! I'm a FRed-head, but the only person I'd less like to see paying kudos to Thompson besides Barnes, is Mort Kondracki.

(Warning, I have a fairly limited definition of person)

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.

I didn’t get a chance to watch the whole debate. Did Fred do any impressions of Chauncey the gardiner? I was half expecting him to have a little fun with Chris.

When Matthews made a snide remark about a labor-relations response (”that was long, you should have stopped at ‘no’”) Fred snapped back “nobody wants your opinion, Christopher” (or words to that effect). Fred’s zinger got a good “burn!” reaction out of everyone, including the audience. I predict that clip will get some play.
Fred started off a bit shaky/timid but he picked up steam and by the end I thought he did well and held is own. His calm manner has a way of making him seem above the fray. By comparison it made Romney and Guiliani seem like they drank too much coffee.

Exactly !

I thought Thompson did poorly. He was just a comma in that debate.

Fred came across as knowledgeable and likable. Fred can hold his own and is the clear favorite right now, despite the MSM trying to downplay him.

Other than the Kos, Huffpo, commentors, you are one of the few to feel that way.

Fred did fine. I look forward to hearing and seeing more. My one criticism is that he doesn’t necessarily seem optimistic enough. He was good humored, however.

That was snarky, as are all of your posts about Fred. You’re always in a bad humor evidently.
