I assume by “America is open for business again” he means selling state secrete to the Chinese Commies and granting pardons to the country’s buggies thieves in exchange for personal cash contributions.

That is his track record. We can expect more of this as he promises.

“open for business” under the Clintons means trouble.

I thought it was illegal to take foreign cash for presidential elections. Then how do we explain this:

The former president made the comments in interviews released Friday in Britain where he was fundraising for Hillary Rodham Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination for next year's presidential election.

WTF? Can't law enforcement get out in front of this, arrest them both now that Bill has admitted to the crime and save us a lot of trouble?

Right. I, for one, am officially on the same page and an authentic “YELLOW DOG REPUBLICAN” when it comes to the horrible spectre of this nightmare couple getting the reins of power again.

I repeat - “YELLOW DOG REPUBLICAN” !

There are those so willing to sell their souls for a "win" they fail to see that many will not vote for Rudy because they see far too few differences between the clintons and Rudy on policy. I am sure Rudy could catch up on the 'foreign trade' thing, given a chance.

So, hopefully, someone in the liberal wing of the party will figure out that Rudy will not win, anyway, and there will be a suitable candidate.

Of course, the liberal wing of the republican party would BLAME the conservatives for not voting for an UNSUITABLE candidate, rather than not nominate him in the first place.

Rudy tooters have been warned.

If he gets nominated, when he loses don't come whining to us.

The abortion issue will be on the back burner I’m afraid once a nuke goes off

It won't take a nuke .... the two lefty seniors on the Supreme Court are holding off retirement until the next president is elected, hoping it will be a Dem. Hillary will have two SC nominees in short order if she's elected and you can bet they'll both be baby murderers.

i agree. Another Klinton presidency and I’m afraid it’s all over for us .The Marxist queen and her minions will shut down any and all free speech , the media will be threatened into only shoing HER point of view , truth will be squashed . I’m sure she has plans to “level the playing field “ on the internet as well.

[”You can see in the recent success of the North Korean nuclear effort that when America moved from unilateralism to working through, and with, others it works pretty well,” he (Clinton)said on the BBC.]

This is a lie. I remember Bush insisting on a six-way discussion with the N. Koreans when the N. Koreans wanted one-on-one talks with the US. The dems declared Bush wrong for insisting on the six-way discussions.

Make that "first loutie".

You’re right. Bush was criticized for not having one-on-one talks with North Korea. What got any concessions out of them at all was new sanctions in 2005 and when Bush got the Asians banks to halt business with NK over counterfeiting.

But the Democrats are knee-jerk reactionaries. They screamed for years that there were not enough U.S. troops in Iraq, then they all badmouthed the surge. One has to wonder: Who is more dangerous to our security, the enemy within--Democrats and the news media--or global terrorism?

and who is this Republican who can beat Klinton ?

Whomever we wholeheartedly support!

If the issues which matter enough to the "one-issue" voters are stoppers for a given candidate, and in Rudy's case, there are a few of these "one-issue voter" issues, which have been spelled out here ad infinitum, then why is it so incredibly difficult for all the Clinton-beaters out there to understand that we have a chance to win with a candidate, any candidate, who does not OFFEND the CORE PRINCIPLES of so many segments of the base.

It also amazes me, that amid the pep-rally atmosphere which surrounded those who have moved to another site, no one was paying attention to WHO dubbed Rudy, McCain, and Romney the "front runners", not to mention the fact that if I wanted my opponenets in disarray from the start, I would pick out seriously flawed candidates and promote them as the "Best of the Best" and let the infighting begin.

Suckers.

You have been had.

Of course, anyone who is really suitable would be IGNORED, just like Uncle Joe's nonpersons in the USSR, and then the naysayers would spew how they could not win because no one was backing them, so they would not back them, in a classic fit of circular reasoning.

This is so cliche it borders on parody!

Somewhere deep in the bowels of the Clinton camp, someone is laughing their ass(es) off.

Now, to really answer your question, with a specific person--but keep in mind this depends entirely on the power of the web to overcome the traditional alphabet networks, the Grey Lady, and her teatime pals--I like Duncan Hunter the best, for his positions on the issues.

Yep, the people here who scream about earmarks or spending will wail and gnash their teeth, but the truth is I have always had more money in my pocket when I have had the freedom to earn it.

But all those other wedges of the pie, the ones Rudy would toss out because they are 'too small' or threaten into consolidation with 'the rest' or we'll have Hillary, will come along, so long as we get Congressman Hunter's views on the issues out there to the people.

No browbeating necessary, no threats of the evil dominion, just honest support.

There are many here who support Fred. While his past votes do not gin up to a perfect fit (for me, anyway), he is far closer than Mitt, John, or Rudy.

My concern is that the drive-by-media will 'Bob Dole' him at every opportunity, showing him at his most worried, tired, or inopportune moments. Every time the teleprompter hiccoughs (easy enough to arrange, I'd think), every time he 'runs dry' at the podium, and every awkward moment will be telecast like the OJ trials in order to make him appear doddering and, well, just too >old.

They did something like this to Gerald Ford, too. It is hard to walk over bundled cables, look at the camera, and not hit your head or trip with the Kleig lights in your face.

The Houston Ship Channel could have been packed with space aliens floating on inner tubes and the lead story would have been how "Ford the Clumsy" hit his head, or hooked another ball into the crowd at the golf course.

No wonder 'Daddy Bush' took up fishing.

As for the early annointees, the media are opening the sea-cocks on their vessels of candidacy even at this early date, and for the rest, with the 'easy' money already in the 'front runners' coffers, the battle is uphill all the way.

But as to who can win?

The answer is simple. Whomever we can agree to vote for.
