He wasn’t taken out of context. The whole statement is posted all over the internet, read it yourself. Whether Rush called Romney’s office or vice versa, his office still said they would change the statement if asked, and they didn’t change it until the heat forced them too. Romney was either aware what was said when it was said or shortly after, he didn’t do anything about it for more than a day. He is complicit, if he wasn’t complicit the people working for him wouldn’t have dared say something so outrageous. His habit of going which way the wind blows is what is on display here, he is an idiot and certainly doesn’t deserve to be President. Spin all you want, he threw Rush under the bus.

He took it and is still running with it, he has refused to address his attack on Rush Limbaugh.

**************

He's going to regret this, if he doesn't already. His remarks indicate that he doesn't realize the damage he's doing to his campaign.

Read post 44, you are pretending that Romney came out and cleared up his attack on Rush, that is not true.

I’m listening to Rush right now and once again he is playing Thompson’s defense of him, and not a word praising Romney. Thus far I’d say it’s accurate Limbaugh isn’t buying his spin job on an inferior radio program.

BTW, Rush even played McCain’s reversed stance on him and we all know how he feels about McCain.....

“You are pretending that Romney attacked Rush, that is not true.”

Rush Limbaugh has told 20 million people that Romney sided with his attackers and threw him under the bus.

We have heard no response from the Romney camp.

Rush thanked people today that had supported him and he even mentioned McCain’s self correction, there was an ominous absence of a Mitt Romney mention.

Long time Rush listeners know what that means.

It is pretty clear if you step back and look at the story with an unbiased eye

You are asking too much of the Mitt haters.

Hey, the story is good fuel for a few days of “we hate Mitt.”

Fred showed his quickness and fearlessness when he took Michael Moore on via YouTube. That was classic.

Read post # 19 again.

Do you know what Huffington Post asked Madden? I don't think we do. You all are jumping to irrational assumptions because it suits your purpose.

Madden did not hear what Rush actually said when he responded. Obviously, it was a mistake to say anything without knowiing that first.

However, it is my guess that HP called Madden and asked him something to the effect of, "Should our brave and decent soldiers who oppose the war be ridiculed, by Rush LImbaugh or anyone else, for expressing their First Amendment rights?"

Madden's answer seems to be responding to a question framed like that, does it not? HIs response mentioned nothing about phony soldiers or anything to which Rush was referring.

Yes, Madden made a mistake and now it reflects poorly on Mitt. And now the vultures circle and play the gotcha game. Pretty sad.

I find it particularly amusing, though, to see all the Fredheads acting all holier than thou when they downplayed Fred's own spokesperson's gaffe that involved a potentional untruth regarding the abortion lobbying issue. Remember? We got several different stories from his campaign regarding that issue before it was straightened out. Never mind. Move along. Not important.

People make mistakes. Spokespeople make mistakes. Some spokespeople are held to higher standards than others. Surprise.

Argue your case, then. Getting hysterical isn't going to help your candidate.

He abandoned rush on the word of MSM/Democrat party slander piece and then after he was informed of how badly it reflects on him he tries to cover it up and restate his position.

Goes to show that Romney isn't a true conservative. He's an opportunist....A Republican Slick Willie without the slick.

True conservatives would assume that the Dems and their mouth pieces in the MSM are always lying and/or distorting. Especially when it comes to conservatives and their causes.

That should be our default position. Until the facts prove otherwise.

..slick Willie
